Oh my bad Detroit that's right

like

Wait, in addition to the one at Detroit? 😳

The plane pretty much flies itself and you've got two pilots. Obviously a wasted pilot isn't an ideal situation, but the actual danger is low.

I'd agree wholeheartedly with you. Was being a bit facetious in my first comment

"Flight" movie starring Denzel Washington. Crazy world

like

If it helps calm his nerves, I don't see any harm in the pilot being a little tipsy

like

...you're kidding, right?

like

Dude are you a pilot? I am one, and that's ridiculous.

like

I'm not recommending people operate aircraft drunk. I'm just saying the level of danger is considerably lower than people think.

like

Holy shit really?

And I'm saying––using my experience flying planes––that when shit goes bad it goes bad reeeally quickly. And in those split-second moments you don't want anything less than 100% of cognitive function.

Right on

Serious question - is there a reverse FIRE strategy? I like the idea of saving and retiring early, but the one hiccup I see (and sorry if this is grim) is if you die earlier than expected. I’d be worried that I would minimize lifestyle and fun for retirement at 50 but I’d die at 49. How about a way to work 9 months out of the year and retire/travel/relax for 3 months? This way you guaranteed your dreams/etc. are fulfilled

Hey everyone! I am a CPA, started at PwC, now the assistant controller at a small/medium sized Ag company. Thus far, the plan has been to follow the CFO path. But recently I have been longing for more social/client facing interactions. I am very extroverted. I love meeting and connecting with new people and would like to incorporate that into my career. Any thoughts on possible career paths that would combine my experience in accounting with a more socially fulfilling job?

Our system is really lacking and we do a lot of work outside of it to track data. Currently I’m using Excel to track data from multiple resources, however, it’s so manual and prone to error. Any suggestions to keep the data clean when I have to pull info from multiple places? I’m constantly auditing and we won’t even look at getting a new system until next year :(
