In our school district we have had to start contributing to our health benefits. This is new to us. How many districts do this and how much do you contribute?

We have always been given a certain amount per employee- if we chose a plan that was more then we were allotted then we paid the rest out of pocket

✋🏻they give $250/month. I’m on the high deductible and I pay another $200 on top of it.

Employees contribute where I work!

We have to start paying in my district too. It’s not going to be too much ($30 a paycheck). They have a fully covered option but it’s not grest

We pay 40% of our monthly premium.

We have to pay depending on what plan.

We got changed too

School pays a single. If we want a family, then we pay anything over the single.

I went through two rounds of interviews for
a job that the posting stated $36.66 per
hour (FP&A Analyst)…the company
recruiter had told me in the initial call the
pay could be 32-36 because of the other
benefits. If I do get a job offer what range
should I try for? I was really hoping to get
around the 36-40 but now I feel like they
may try to offer lower than what was
posted. Also there was no range but the
average for this position is upper 70s-90k.
Thanks for any help!

Hi everyone! How did you discuss with your boss all the time you’d be needing to take off for appointments? My boss absolutely hates when people take time off. Company policy is at least a week ahead of time - she says she needs at least 2. Also when someone requests off a couple days in March then a couple days in April for example, she gets annoyed and says they are requesting too much time (even if they have plenty of PTO available).

After 3 years of dealing with the worst firm I've ever had the displeasure of working for, I finally landed my dream gig at a small specialty firm. The people at the new firm are all SMEs featured in and contributors to the most notable business publications in the world, less than 100 employees, better benefits, unlimimted PTO, doubled my pay and landed a senior role.

Keep looking for what you want and deserve. I'm happy to be forging a better path away from what I've had to endure.

I’m not sure if this happens to you, I’m constantly intimidated and feel judged by white men and women and/or people born in the US for having a strong foreign accent in the US. Nobody says that to my face, but I can see it in people’s actions. This has severely affected my confidence and I focus more on the way I pronounce some words rather than the content. How do I battle this situation? Would definitely like both perspectives.

I’m currently interviewing but wondering if it’s going to reflect poorly on me at a new job if they realize i was already pregnant when I accepted the job.
