In public, is it better to give 2 weeks notice and risk being "let go"? Or wait until a few days to quit?

I have never seen anyone not be paid for the two weeks even if they ask you to leave as soon as you tell them. I've been in payroll 30 years now

Do you have another job lined up? If so, give notice.

Yea I have a job lined up but how does that impact my decision to give notice or not? As an At-Will employer they could technically "fire me" as soon as I give notice. Which would be pretty lame bc I am doing them a courtesy by giving notice. I'm not struggling, but I'm not keen on missing a paycheck for doing the right thing.

Just give notice. They will respect the two weeks.

Lol you took the job! Nice. 👍🏾

Read the fine print. KPMG requires two weeks

Basically I don't want to burn bridges, but I also don't want to miss a paycheck for doing them a professional courtesy.

I wasn't paid

At my old firm of you left for another public acct firm they cut you but if you left for industry (not another competitor) they kept you for the two weeks, regardless or title (for both managers and staff they did this)

I gave 3 weeks notice. And they accepted it!

Most places will honor the 2 weeks notice.
