Hi, usually employee contribution is NOT included in your CTC. It’s the employer contribution that makes it in the CTC break up. Your contribution is one of the deductions, which include taxes, any GESPP (share purchase plan), VPF, etc.

Thanks
Yes it does. CTC break-up consists of employer pf contribution. Your contribution is taken out of gross salary comprising of basic, hra, allowances

For fixed CTC of 20.5 , how much roughly in hand salary we can expect in Shell
~1.35-1.4L per month. Depends on your tax saving investments though.
In PF there is some option in most orgs for fixed PF with Rs1800 deduction/month.Is that option not available in shell?
Govt rules have changed...
I wish there was this option of fixed PF 1800 in Shell. It's available in Accenture.
Don't want to dedicate much in pf contribution at all 😐

Apart from HRA , is there any other big tax saving component in Shell . I don't have any house loan emi or any other tax saving option .
Recently Shell introduced corporate NPS, which can help save tax. Alternatively maxing out 80C along with Medical insurances, parental medical expenses etc can help. To be honest, I am not an expert, I also do the bare minimum. 😅 Would suggest you to get some advise from some tax consultant. I know this might sound tedious but this helps in the long run. So I was told 😅
