Both places (cap and Freddie) will be slower than EY. Your comp growth will likely be higher at cap one than Freddie, and a stronger name on resume

Talking to friends at cap one they say they get around 3-5% a year except for promotions which aren’t entirely common. You can be stuck at senior associate for 10 years. If that’s true and even if Freddie is around the same comp growth, starting at 125 is a much bigger benefit no?

How many YOE do you have?

If you want mad WLB with growth and pay, go to capital one, it really is hard to beat (I had clients that worked under 40 hours a week consistently) I would try to get them to bump up the base to come somewhat close to Freddie…

I did and after all negotiations that was there final offer. Initial offer was 95k for reference.

Any creatives with 15 years experience looking for a client side leadership role? DM me.

Applied to KPMG (with a referral) and RSM (without a referral). How long does it generally take to hear back when applying as an experienced professional for a manager role? Haven’t applied anywhere since college so my idea of timing is pretty outdated. Thanks!

What range salary would you expect to get for a senior accountant role with good WLB in LCOL area? Second year senior with CPA and some industry experience. Don’t want to undersell myself but also desperate to get out of public.

Currently in industry, on the product side with previous consulting background. I don’t like the grind of consulting, but Salesforce CSG (prof services) reached out with a BA role. I’m also in the process of interviewing at FICO as well. I like that the FICO is on the internal product side, but Salesforce has a great reputation. Feeling like I don’t know what I want. For reference, I’m leaving my current place because of terrible leadership & back to office 5x a week/no flexibility. Any advice?

In the middle of interviewing for a role externally right now. Would other firms generally expect you to start after we get bonus? Even if I get the offer in mid-Nov…this means I won’t be able to start at a new firm until mid-Feb (given 30 day garden leave after bonus and resignation). Is that a usual/ok timeline?

Trying to figure out my freelance project rate for work with an agency. I know at my level, if I was a FTE, my rate would be between $300-$325 an hour at this agency, so am trying to translate that into a reasonable freelance hourly rate to then create a project estimate off of based on estimated hours. Am wondering how much agencies typically mark up freelancer costs when billing clients? Thanks in advance!

TMW the client is observing President's Day and you're flying out to sit at your office in a different city 😒

When your client is understanding of your schedule, listens to your recommendations, and thanks you for your hard work.

What is the salary range for an Executive Digital Producer role in NYC? 🤠

Thinking of taking a SM role in consulting. Role is in the NY area for big 4. What is the base salary and bonus range I should be looking for?

I’m current an S1 in corporate tax for a Top 10. I had an interview with a Big 4 for a tax technology position, but didn’t get in. I’m heartbroken because it was my dream job. 😅Everyone I spoke to seemed to like my experience and the recruiter said the team liked me as well, but they didn’t offer any feedback. Any advice on software or certifications I should get to help me get into tax technology and tax transformation? I’d really appreciate it - thank you for hearing me out!

Fairly recent start in consulting out of undergrad. The long hours are really starting to get to me. Just nothing seems worth sacrificing 16 hours a day or more for. How do you all manage with having basically no life outside of work and barely having time to take care of your health?

On a short term project with a dysfunctional team. There’s animosity between the workstreams and they don’t talk to each other. We’re approaching the end of the project and the final deliverable so far is just a slapped together deck of individual material from each workstream without a cohesive vision. The leadership is unhappy and we’re facing the already difficult client tomorrow. I don’t believe it’s my place so say anything but will this fall on my head in any way?

Looking at making a move from a top 20 city to PNW farm style living. Work from home permanently and live peacefully. I'd be close enough to SEA that I'd be able to make it work if I had to (ie if remote ops reversed course) Anyone thinking similar or already done so? Also, has anyone sold their house to an institutional buyer? Obviously, you may get less cash, but it will also take longer to sell, so you are paying holding costs, etc and taking on more market risk.

Does anyone have the 2020 SHRM books for sale or to borrow? My job won’t contribute towards my certification. I’ve already paid for my test. I have the books from 2015 but I’d like to study from the 2020. I tried finding them online to purchase but sellers of affordable books aren’t responding.

What are some signs that it’s time to move on to a new job/ career path? I’m not looking at promotion for realistically another 2 years, same timing for pay raise. On a long term project so I’m locked in for another 2 years at least doing the same thing so not learning nearly like I was when first joining consulting. I’m starting to lose sight of my overall goals and what’s the point of doing all this. Please help!

Hello fellow teachers. It’s my second year teaching and I’ve begun to get my pace in the classroom with discipline except one student. She doesn’t do her work and when my coteacher and I walk around, she doesn’t accept help (for example, she will sit looking at her blank work so when we go over to ask her how should she start the problem or can we read it to understand, she’ll pull away her chromebook and annoyingly says I don’t need help. This student currently has a 0% in math because of this.
