I’m considering making a huge career change from litigation paralegal to legal operations. I have no experience in legal operations per se however, I have 12 years as a customer service manager, and trainer, as well as 17 years as a Litigation Paralegal. I love being a litigation paralegal, but I’ve always enjoyed being on the operations side in customer service specifically working for corporations, like Sprint, PCS, and managing up to 43 customer service representatives. One of best friends just ended her engagement. I reached out to her because I heard it from a mutual friend. I offered to chat with her, but she wants alone time to process so I am respecting that. I am also not physically near her. I have texted her once a day to ask her questions or share things and she has ignored my texts. I left consulting about 3 months ago for work life balance and the fact that I was dissatisfied with such a male dominated work environment. I joined my new job in industry since then, and my male manager and I may have some working style differences. I'm a recruiting manager and I'm looking for ways to ensure the data in our ATS is accurate and able to be trusted (things like our TTF, agency spend, candidate tracking, etc.). The nonprofit I work at (head of HR and finance) is in the early stages of a merger. Our respective board presidents have agreed it’s in both agencies best interests with the next step to develop a proposal for a management agreement where the agency I work would take over certain aspects of the other entity (at minimum HR and finance).
Any boss ladies with merger experience in mergers have any advice? I’ll spin to solely finance as it’s my area of expertise and we’ll promote one of my reports.
If you’ve been at a company for about six months and you’ve also started grad school. During annual raises, would it be wrong to ask for a 3k+ raise? Can pursuing your masters be a good enough explanation for a raise because you’re enhancing your skill set apart from the work you’re doing?
