In the midst of interviewing for a position that would result in a career pivot. A part of me worried about a potential recession hitting soon after and I’ll be the first to be let go (which won’t be the case if I stay in my current career) but a part of me also realizes how miserable I am in my current job despite still being viewed as a high performer. Help?!

Any advice on how many slides a ~15min tech interview presentation should be? I know there’s no perfect number but is like maybe 8-12 slides good enough? Context is this is for higher up like we’re talking Directors+ and they’re very smart in tech with phd’s.

PSA: didn’t think anyone needed to hear this, but apparently many do. When you’re interviewing for a job you actually want, and the interviewer asks if you have any questions for them at the end, have questions ready, and legitimate ones. It’s a really bad look when candidates say “no I don’t have any questions,” or they ask something incredibly stupid like “what cool swag do you get?”

I got offered a job as an internal wholesaler at Lord Abbett and market support analyst at Blackrock. Blackrock pays more but it’s an assistant role. Lord Abbett says I can move to external wholesaler but it’s a smaller co and less upward mobility if I don’t get that role. Any reason I should take one over the other?
