What "falling market"? The Dow has been at about the same point since May. The various indices are down like 3-4% from the peak but Dow is in basically the same range since May and S&P and NASDAQ are at the same level as in late July and it's up a lot over 12 months. Hard to realistically call this a Falling Market.

Small cap is down from highs about as much as Sp 500, don’t know what core is, value is down also but not as far as growth, bonds are down and will go fo down further if interest rates go up, crypto is up recently but who knows, commodities is pretty broad, real estate is up. Not sure how any of that says anything about the future

In their bank accounts.

And don’t you just have to buy another property?

Houses probably
Prices seemed to chill out for a minute in September.
Now they are going sky high again.
The recent listings I've seen in my neighborhood are jaw dropping.

Probably it went to crypto a bit. My Bitcoin valuation went up slightly.

I’ve seen a couple posts lately with comments saying that people should not use a Roth 401k. Does the logic below capture the spirit of that concept?
1. Use trad. 401k to reduce taxable income now. Convert to trad. IRA once retired, then convert gradually to Roth IRA (ladder, SEPP, etc.) at lowest marginal tax rate
2. Use Roth IRA (and/or backdoor Roth) to take advantage of tax free growth and ability to withdraw principal early without penalty

How do people save for a down payment on a house? My SO and I make a combined 130k salary, currently rent a 1br apt for $2250/mo, have other debts of 600/mo and 15k in savings. Neither of us have been able to save much since we started to rent the apt (6 months ago).
