Yes if they report to HR depending on how serious it was there could be an investigation. Was the argument verbal or written?

A manager told me unilaterally to direct review an associates work, then proceeded to lecture me about his prioritizing team member development over quality and timeliness of work (this tax the week before a deadline). He was a week behind and had clearly ghost signed off on the associate’s train wreck and not the first time he’s done that. This combined with a harassment claim against him and he’s gone.
