Our secretary does the enrollment paperwork. If they are a transfer within Michigan, we typically accept the IEP on a 30 day placement where we then hold an IEP within 30 days. This is the same for us when they come from another state. Several Michigan schools use the same computer system (PCG) so they electronic a IEP is stored within their software so it’s easy to transfer. Your district requires a lot of you if you’re expected to type it in yourself. Seems like your district needs a more updated electronic software system to just make transferring easier and less work!

Unfortunately in my district we would have to have a transfer IEP meeting with the IEP team and parents of the child and it would be my responsibility as the special education teacher to write that IEP.

we don’t type it in we scan it in to our database we use for our IEP’s

We use Embrace and it’s partially our SPED coordinator and the case manager.

We have a person at the district level that enters it into the system, but only completes the administrative data sheet. We have to do all the rest. I am just starting my second one now.

our sped admin enters name and if student is from in state IEP appears, but if from out of state then admin puts name in and I have to type in IEP.

I have my last exam (FAR) on Monday and I am beyond burned out. I still have to do the last 3 becker sections (NFP & Gov Accounting Parts 1, 2, & 3) on top of reviewing everything else. Any tips of things I should review the most? I have been studying the past month but not super intense because I am so burned out… I passed the other 3 by using the cram method in 2 weeks for REG, 1 week for AUD, and 2 weeks for BEC. Is it possible to cram for FAR and be ok?

I want to be able to teach general education as a backup. My license is K-12 moderate intensive right now. Is there a way for me to get a license to teach gen Ed without going back to school full time? I know I can do the supplemental license but the school district has to cooperate with that, and I really don’t want to take that route right now.

I’m considering a credential in elementary special education-mild/moderate. I really enjoyed the time I had when I was a sub covering special Ed classes, but that was just a couple of days at a time. Anyone consider leaving sped for general ed?

Hi everyone, I’m currently a SpEd Teacher for learning support(English 2 and 3) in a high school setting. I find this position to be a little difficult because I’m working with students who have just been pushed along. Anyways, I may be forced transferred due to the budget and was considering doing Autistic support at the elementary level. I’ve never worked with this group and I’m pretty comfortable working with any group of children. Does anyone work in this field?
