Hi folks, when I joined my organization, I started at a lower annual salary and no esops. But with subsequent appraisals my salary has improved in 2.5 years. Also I have been granted some esops (not included in ctc) and their value has also increased.
I'm wondering as to what should I tell recruiters what my current ctc is?

Had a judge set an expedited trial yesterday; and in so doing, left me with less than a week to propound discovery and serve subpoenas. Fine. Game on. In less than one business day after the hearing, we just served 25 subpoenas, plus Interrogatories, Request for Docs, Request for Admissions, and notices of Deposition. And, just to add the cherry on top, OP is self represented. He isn’t going to know what hit him.

I just found out from a friend (white male) who has several years less legal experience than me and zero litigation experience, who is coming from a clerkship, was offered my senior litigation position before me. I was essentially the third choice. I have been judged from DAY ONE for being female and promoting diversity (I am a lady of color). WWYD: FTM and gov attorney - before I went on mat leave I filed letters listing my argument unavailability dates. Recently I learned I totally miscalculated my leave - I listed my return as Jan. 3, and HR just told me I am eligible for leave until late Feb. But one of my cases was already scheduled for early Jan. and I confirmed the date with the court. If I work at all, leave ends. Go back early since it’s my mistake or contact court and try to move even though I already confirmed the date?

While my boss is very sensitive to sexism, he often reminds me that I am only a 2nd year, and that sometimes people (attorneys in our firm, outside co-counsel, opposing counsel) treat me differently in accordance with my experience level, rather than because of my gender. I, however, believe that I’d be given a lot more respect as a male 2nd year. Small firm so we don’t have any male associates. How do I show him it’s my gender and not my experience level?

Thoughts on taking depos off camera via Zoom? I notice a lot of attorneys not appearing on camera lately. I usually do appear on camera while doing questioning. But almost feels easier to not be on camera, even while questioning the deponent.
I have a junior who is pregnant. While she has not asked me to go easy on the workload, I feel guilty sending her work especially when she constantly tells me how sick she is. How to deal with MIL and husband’s side of the family who will never fully understand that I’m just as busy and work just as much as my husband? Background: both in big law, both doing WFH. He’s more senior than me, his work hours are more constant; I’m a corporate attorney and my hours ebb and flow.
