In your experience, how accurate is Credit Karma? I’m looking to buy my first property in the near future and am basing my mortgage rate estimates on my TransUnion / Equifax scores.

My credit score on CK has always been about 20 points higher than what it is when pulled. This was true for 2 home purchases and 2 car purchases.

Thank you!

Very accurate.

like

False. Credit karma is always way higher than your actual FICO 2,4,&5 scores, which are used by lenders as part of their scoring system

Agreed it is not so accurate. Let me know if you want me to run some numbers for you as I am a lender.

Question for my engaged or married women! When you were dress shopping, how many bridal boutiques did you visit? My mom lives a few hours away and is planning to come down for a weekend to come dress shopping with me. I have 3 boutiques in mind to visit, but not sure how best to book appointments. 3 appts one day or split them across the weekend? Is 3 too many? How do I decide which place to visit first?

Hello all. My company just went through an acquisition and the company did some restructuring of job titles. When they did this we were all advised the company would be making sure our jobs pay aligned with the national average.
My issue with this is my job title went from a Technical Support Supervisor to a Customer Success Team Lead. I have voiced my concerns with management but have been advised job titles are semantics. In my eyes this is a demotion, and will affect how much my job is worth.

Would anyone be willing/able to refer me to any companies with finance-related consulting positions? Or any recs for companies I should gravitate toward?

I have referrals at PWC and KPMG but no interviews just yet. Thanks!

Hi All, Does the lender consider unvested stock amount from RSU during closing?

Lender shopping before I close out on my first home. Is 3.5% a good rate for putting 20% down on a home? How can I go about having my lender match other lenders? For context, the home I’m building in Texas has a lender that will cover $5k in closing costs if I go with them, and that’s the rate they’re giving me. I realize the rates are going back up and just wanted any advice on if it’s best to lock that in the next week or keep shopping as my closing is May 14. Thanks in advance!

One item borrowers shopping for mortgages get too caught up in is rate. Most borrowers don’t know how to read a loan estimate and get taken advantage all the time. Just because a lender/bank offers you a low rate doesn’t mean it’s best deal. Most cases, especially now since rates have gone up, you are being charged points for some of these lower rates in the 4s. If you don’t know or understand discount points feel free to shoot me a message and I can help you review estimate and see if can beat
