In your experience, how long does it usually take between submitting a resume via LinkedIn application and hearing back from the company?

I'm currently working as a financial analyst and looking to switch to strategy & ops roles.

I'm on my notice period and got an offer from a company which is the role I'm looking for. However, they've given only 1 day to respond to the offer. This company is 2nd on my priority list and I got this from a personal connect.

Next week I have an interview with my 1st priority company (but that is interview 1st round).

Is it okay to first accept an offer and then say no & not join?

How has the interview experience been for people appearing for roles with the People Advisory practice of EY GDS?

Are there case interviews for experienced professional roles (eg, project leader or principal) at BCG Digital? If so, what are they like? (Hopefully not too quantitative...)

I interviewed for an internal QA position. I had been regularly communicating with the Lead about the position for months. I thought the interview went well. It was w/ the QA Lead and the head of the department. I was sent rejection a week later. It’s disappointing. There was side conversation yesterday with another co-worker who ended up getting one of the two internal QA position. They made an interesting note that they were offered the job before the interview was finished. Am I overthinking?

I have 8 years of HR experience, no college degree, and no HR certification. Titles held have been HR Specialist, HR Administrator, HR Generalist, Associate HR Manager, and most recently, HR Director for only four months (toxic). Geographically speaking, salaries are not very high. I was offered $45k in an hourly role as a site HR rep for a hotel with about 50 employees in a bustling college town. Should I try to negotiate more pay? Any input is appreciated.

I currently have 5.5YOE and I got an internal strategy offer at a mid sized tech company. The package is good but my only hesitation is that my immediate boss who will be doing my performance reviews came from a T2 firm with 3YOE and he joined the company not long ago. Beginning my search for a new job and it feels like I'm trying to learn how to ride a bike again. I've done this before but that was to get into consulting. Now I'm trying to get into a less traveling role and have no idea where to begin. I want to move into software account management and eventually into full on sales, but without real sales experience chances are looking slim. I have an upcoming interview with on of the FAANG companies that was previously a client of mine. Is it ok to speak to the recruiter/interviewer about the details of the project I worked on. Or is that frowned upon and I should anonymize the project details?

How are lateral hires done at MBBs for more junior roles (i.e. senior analyst or junior/senior associate)? Is there an internal talent acquisition team at MBB that goes through LinkedIn and seek potential candidates? This is probably difficult because you can't really tell if an employee is an outstanding candidate just from his/her LinkedIn?

Also what are the chances of moving into MBB from Tier 2? I know lateral among MBB is common but haven't heard of many cases going from T2 to MBB.

Have conversation with hiring manager on offer details. What should I say once offer is laid out? I’d like to keep room for negotiations. How can I also let other firms kno I now have an offer.

How to approach salary negotiation? I was recently made redundant (UK) with 1YOE, and now have an offer in a tech firm for a strategic business analytics post. The offer is about 15% below my previous salary (which they know); I'd be keen to lift it up by a few £k to bring it up to roughly 10% below.

How should I go about asking this - given I'm unemployed I'm not sure I have much leverage, and I'm already coming it with relatively low YoE / high banding for the role.
