North Phoenix is nice, so is a lot of Peoria.
The funny thing about most of Maricopa county is there are pockets of nice areas surrounded by sketchy areas.
Folks are saying East Valley - that’s just as hit or miss as Phoenix. Chandler, Ahwatukee, and Gilbert are nice. Apache junctions and a lot of mesa is more miss than hit.

I like Arcadia but it’s a little cost-prohibitive to buy. Depends on your goals
Currently have a house in uptown which is also good but not ‘as’ good
I’m in Arcadia area and love it. Very nice and bike-able and great for family life. Also pretty centrally located.
I'm in Arcadia as well. Its really nice and like someone said above it is clean as well. I've always really loved it in this area.
I think they question should be what you are looking for. That’ll help people offer better perspective.
I live by Roosevelt Row and I love it here
EA center here so I work remotely
I'm moving soon, to Tempe or old town Scottsdale. Lmk if you're looking for a roommate in either of those areas
East Valley is ideal. Southern Tempe, Scottsdale, Chandler, Gilbert. If you want more urban that is walkable, consider Old Town Scottsdale. If you don’t care and have a vehicle- the other areas. If you want to be in Phoenix consider northern Phoenix, Arcadia area, or Ahwatukee. West side consider Peoria.
Scottsdale or Arcadia
Second vote for Scottsdale. Its absolutely beautiful.
@all recs for a single guy moving to the area? Going to grad school in Tempe so considering there or old town Scottsdale. How is parking in old town (i.e. if I lived in Arcadia would I take short Ubers into town for dinner, drinks?)
Makes sense, thanks!
Fountain Hills is magnificent.
Way too far from the actual city, but gorgeous area
I'm in Gilbert and love it. Always rated in the Top3 safest cities in the country
Lived in Peoria but I personally love living in Ahwatukee. It's a family-friendly neighborhood. It just has a lot to offer.
