I am currently a Recruitment Supervisor for a health system of about 20,000 employees. I have about 100 reqs as a recruiter and oversee 6 direct reports. I am looking to transition into working for a Microsoft, Apple, Amazon, Meta, etc type of company. How would you best recommend I get myself in front of their recruitment team when these roles are receiving hundreds of applicants for each role? I doubt they look at everyone at that level. Microsoft Amazon Facebook (Meta) Apple

Has anyone quit their job and travelled the world for a long period of time? Any things I should think about (stuff like travel health insurance or other tips)? Considering doing it 6 months before I do grad school full-time in a few years so saving up a bunch before then. Figure this would be the best time in my life to do it since it won't impact my career (hiring managers won't care if there's a resume gap before grad school) and before I have a family.
For those of you in the technical recruiting space, how did you first get started? I've been in HR for nearly 6 years, and recruitment for 3. I've mainly worked in health care and accounting, but have not hired for tech roles before. I would really love to pivot my career toward this type of recruitment. Any advice on how to do so? Job postings for this kind of work are intimidating since everyone seems to want 2-3 yrs of experience already.
Haven't changed employer in past 12 years. At a new job, do most employers contribute to your 401k on Day 1 but maybe vest at a later date (eg 1 yr), or do some not contribute at all until a later date?

If you have both options, do you use Roth 401k or Traditional 401k? Why? It seems to me like the typical advice gets this wrong so just wondering if I'm the only one seeing it. Or if I'm crazy.
How much money do you have left over after you pay all of your expenses and tax? After taxes and rent, healthcare, 401k, and food, I have about 12-14k left over at the end of the year. Is this low? Should I be saving more?
If I switch Big4 and go from audit to advisory would I be let go immediately or would I be able to do my 2 weeks notice? Plan is to have the 2 weeks end right after filing but don’t want to risk losing health insurance for the month lapse

Suffering from crippling work related anxiety lately. Have always found this job stressful at times but with wfh the anxiety is constant and paralyzing and unbearable. I have regular panic attacks, question everything I do, feel like I’m never doing a good enough job and am really down on myself. Part of this I’m sure is that I live by myself and am alone with my thoughts all day, part is that I’m new to the manager role. Any coping strategies??

Are any public accounting firms hiring associates with only one year experience? 1st yr tax associate let go due to RIF yesterday and I’d like to stay in PA but worried I don’t have much experience under my belt to leverage. Any insight or help is appreciated!
If you’ve interviewed via Zoom/WebEx/Teams etc. recently, did you use your personal computer or work computer? My personal laptop is old and the camera is nowhere near the quality of my work laptop. Is it crazy to use my work laptop? Side note - the interview is via Microsoft Teams, which we use in my office for internal communications. I’m comfortable with the using the platform, but have no idea how meeting info is stored.

Hi there- I am considering pursuing a certification in HR analytics or data analysis and visualization to enhance my data storytelling skills as an HR Business Partner. I have no prior data analytics experience aside from what I’ve learned on the job evaluating employee data (ie exit and engagement surveys) and making recommendations based on past experience. Does anyone have any advice or recommendations on leveraging this type of certificate in your role?

Serious q: I'm choosing between a two BI/Ops type roles, one in a FAANG in Dublin, one in a less-known corporate in London (where I'm currently based). FAANG pays 70% more and is a more interesting / more senior role, but I'd prefer staying in London where all my friends are / where it's warmer and sunnier. I'm pretty sure I'm gonna take the FAANG role, but has anyone else struggled with this type of career vs. personal life trade-off, and how did you reason about it?
Anyone take courses/get a degree from Harvard Extension School? Experience? Was it worth it? Are you also able to build a network? Realize it’s not like an MBA, but that doesn’t fit my life now .

Hi there! We are thinking about adding a benefit to our Veterans employee resource group - assistance with Tax Prep for Veterans/Spouses, since they or their spouses may have lived/worked in several places nationwide and globally in any given year and their taxes are complex - have you heard of this veteran-aimed benefit before? Seen it at your firm or in the market? Thanks!
