New York Big Law

In your view, do you think a lawyer who’s been working in broker-dealer compliance can bring value to a law firm - as a litigator or transactional attorney?

More transactional than litigation, but the folks I know like this still do a lot of compliance work.

Interesting. I expected more litigation, or regulatory enforcement defense. What’s the nature of their compliance work?

I noticed that in social settings both at work & friends circle I seem to be the guy to get picked on for 'good natured' ribbing. Never happens in 1on1 interactions, curious to understand why that is.

How bad is it to ask a recruiter to change times for a screening the day before your call? Had a client meeting get moved to the slot right before the screening (mtg ends at 2:30, call is at 2:30).

Kind of a specific question. Thanks ahead of time 🐠 friends. I was planning on doing a larger app cycle next year for admission 2022, but decided to apply to CBS ED this year for admit 2021 since they’re reapplicant friendly. Now reconsidering if I should attempt any other schools this cycle or if that’ll hurt my chances next year. Are there other m7 schools to shoot for? I was thinking about Wharton as well. Current stats in comments for details. Appreciate your thoughts!
