I’m a Tax Senior at a Mid Tier Firm and I’m looking to leave before the 2022 Busy Season. I’m really struggling with what positions to look for or what I would be qualified to do. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I’m open to either tax or accounting positions.

I’m curious about salaries for tax technology consulting (or whatever the equivalent is) folks at other firms. I’m currently at 74k as a TC1 in MCOL. HCOL or CS backgrounds at my level make a tad more.

Just finished 1st year as audit senior at regional firm and got an offer to work as a contract controller for a small outsource controller/cfo firm. Will receive about $20k pay bump but am scared to make the leap from PA. Anyone have experience with this type of job/industry that can share some pros and cons?

I found someone on LinkedIn who went to school with my manager, and she's working at a company in the department that I'm applying for. Would it be a reach for me to message her and ask her about her role/how she made the jump from PwC to that company? I'm not sure what the etiquette is here since I don't directly know her and don't want my manager to know I'm looking to leave.

I was debating between two offers and decided to go with company A(less money, more interesting role). But the Manager from B went above and beyond to give me better pay&connected with me personally. He is super nice and called me 3 times to give me updates and got an offer ready within a day. He even said if I don’t go with him it’s okay and he can also help me decide on other offers as a career coach. Anticipating an offer to work in a Corporate accounting for a large public company very soon at $140k base. I think the raise pencils out… wondering if anyone has advice about pros/cons in comparing these types of roles -public vs private setting, advancement opportunities, etc. both are Non tech companies.
