Apparently the egos don’t get better outside agencies, good to know!

Well it’s good to see you’re not drinking the Kool-Aid, which is exactly the danger of all in-house teams.

Counterpoint - My agency works with multiple “in-house” teams who then just outsource work they would normally do to agencies because they can’t manage the workload, know their work or internal capabilities are stale, or need new ideas and resources very quickly. It totally depends on what your marketing team focuses on and what kind of resources and talent you can find in your area.
For example, I’ve seen some internal teams take on media buying and totally fail because they have zero idea about the infrastructure and training required to do it well. Sounds like you found a diamond in the rough, but from what I see, the pendulum keeps swinging one way or another.

Yeah i see a lot of Producer/Digital Designers credited on D&AD, Cannes & One Show work. 😂 two departments and positions in one.

I’d say if you love sales collateral and email blasts jump in house. But if you want big, creative ideas that leads the ad industry because it has an OUTSIDE perspective, stick with agencies.

But hey OP congrats. Glad you like their flavor of kool aid.

Would you mind sharing the company you work for?

This isn’t about ego. This about agencies double dipping. Hiking rates while asking freelancers to take a rate cut.

OP - Sounds like you need better agency partners then. This isn’t something that happens across the board.

Can you share the “better work related to the brand”?

They have to hire a team of former agency freelancers to do it first
