EY - What is the maternity leave breakdown? 2 weeks prior to DD + X disability + 16 weeks parental leave + up to 3 weeks PTO? Is the usual 6-8 week disability/medical separate from the 16 week bonding leave?
Trying to chart my next move and not sure what direction to go. All I know is I’m tired of being always “on” in a client-facing environment. Any podcasts, books, etc I can read for insight into more internal roles like biz ops, corporate dev/strategy, other?? 4 YOE total all in consulting. Currently a SC. PwC 🐠, if my last day of employment at PwC is Dec 1, will I be covered for health insurance for the month of Dec. or would I need to get a COBRA coverage for Dec?
Hi, I'm undergoing a contested divorce for less than one year of marriage. Counselling didn't help. My spouse is seeking alimony though she is working in a good IT job in India and her father has crores of properties. Indian lawyers are seeking my net assets, tc etc. 1. Can working spouse expect maintenance as per indian law when she is wealthy 2. Do we need to include pf, 401k , ira into these? Since I'm working in US and she is working in India , do they consider PPP while granting alimony?
This will either make me feel sad or okay.... at 25, how much did you have saved? Not including 401k.
401K Advice needed: Hello all, I needed money last year and took out $18K from my 401K. No penalty but will have to pay taxes. My goal is to roll over all my 401K to my IRA. Does anyone know if I still have to pay taxes if I return the money to my 401K? Any info would be appreciated!
Is this reasonable or am I missing something? I started maxing my 401k from year 1 and I hope to have $5 million or more by the time I retire around 60. Wouldn’t it make sense to put all of my yearly $19,500 401k contribution to ROTH 401k instead of traditional 401k? My reasoning is that I would pay 35% tax now and my remaining 65% would grow tax-free in ROTH 401k…. versus traditional 401k where I deposit 100% but every distribution will be taxed 35% assuming I make a lot in retirement.
Setting up a 401k for the first time. Did you decide to do pre-tax or post-tax? Why did you decide that? Retirement savings and options are all overwhelming!
Just switched jobs. Old 401k has more than $5k and new 401k is with a different provider. Is there any reason whatsoever to move the old 401k cash anywhere, either to the new 401k or to an IRA? Given that it's more than $5k, it can stay there indefinitely, right? I'm fine with the investment options with my old 401k. And I can transfer it over to a new IRA or new 401k anytime, even years in the future, right? Given that no distribution will come to force the 60 day rule?
PwC or KPMG for mgmt consulting? Interested to hear your thoughts wrt pay, WLB, culture, and other benefits.
It’s wild to see the party of “families values” outraged that Pete Buttigieg took paternity leave. It’s hilarious to see that same party express outrage that he received paid leave yet sat by silently while Trump spent more than 310 days golfing on the taxpayer’s dime.
At EY, if you quit right after or during your maternity leave, is there a requirement to pay back some or all of your pay during that time?
How much are you putting into your 401k? I’m thinking 10% of my paychecks. About me: 29F, 140K annual salary, company match 6%
How do you know when you have enough money? I got laid off in the spring, but don’t feel a pressing need to get a new job right away. Have 3 rental properties, all paid off, get about $3k/mth net from that, have about $200k in a 401k and another $200k in more-liquid investments. I spend less than $2k/mth and feel happy and comfortable. Not married and no kids... but would like that one day, so thinking of maybe saving some more money for that. Anyone been in a similar situation? Any advice?
Started a new job and trying to decide whether to rollover my 401k from my old firm at schwab to my new firm at fidelity or invest in a roth 401k. i've had a company 401k since I was 22 yo almost 15 years ago but the balance is embarrassingly low. Maybe i'll have better control in a roth? thoughts ?

For anyone that went from a BDR role to a BDR manager role, how did you make the transition? I have 4 years of BDR experience unofficial team lead experience but no other leadership experience yet. I do not want to become an account executive so this seems like it might be the best path for me at this point to get to the next step in my career. Advice?
What is your best classroom management trick?
I had an interview for an senior mgmt role at a bank and the interview was going very well. Beginning of the interview, she mentioned my resume was very impressive. She also said I was extremely intelligent and that I had a bright future; however they’re interviewing people with over 26 years of experience and would want someone more seasoned. I’m feeling super discouraged. Why bother with my resume at all?
MBA at 28? Feel like I'll be too old.
Partners, under what scenario, if any, would you consider hiring an associate without a book of business from another firm as a lateral junior partner at your firm? What are the considerations?
Hello Everyone! Had a discussion yesterday regarding “claw backs” being included in a policy for sponsorship if the new employee leaves before 3 years. It was a declining percentage over a three year period. My POV was that it wasn’t something I’ve ever done and didn’t seem like they were sure of the hire they were making. I get wanting to save costs but at the same time doesn’t feel inclusive or welcoming. Thoughts? Have you done this or seen it work? Thanks!
Hi, I’m a Manager at a Big 4 firm. Do a lot of change management, talent strategies work. Am looking to go into MBB for a smaller firm feel. Can anyone be so kind to help me with a referral? Thank you

What’s Ross’s stereotype? Is it possible to get into MBB or FAANG post graduation? What is the student body like? Is it reputable?
Do people front load their 401k contributions? I put in 30% for the first 6 months and then prorate up to the max for the last 6. Also, anyone know a way where we can put an explicit $ amount in instead of percent? I'd like to be at $19,500 to the cent at EOY
Anyone know if you have to repay signing bonus at Accenture? If so what's the length of time you must stay to keep it all?
What is the best objective source for determining whether to get the COVID 19 vaccine? Looking for sources and raw data and documentaries. I’m not looking for opinions I am looking for references to a variety of medical authorities. I have masked up this whole time but admittedly have not done any research other than what I heard in the news. So now I plan to approach this as an objective question to answer like I would any thoroughly researched legal question.
Plan to leave the firm within the next 6 months and use my PTO every other Friday because I can’t handle this work any longer—it has destroyed my mental health, along with the pandemic and all the shit going on in the world. I’m grateful to have a job but I can’t do this any more. I’m fully staffed on an engagement, but can I still request PTO every 2 weeks (just trying to use them up at this point)? Don’t care about promos, don’t care about this line of work and industry
I’m a upcoming graduate student studying Accounting, and I also have some sort of data analytics and programming background. Recently, I am exposed to the accounting advisory services which makes me feel that this is what I want. Can anyone gives some advices on both the interviews and what the career path looks like? Any thoughts or comments are appreciated!
