Hi everyone, I have a query related to CTC break-up offered for SDE 2 role at companies like Amazon, Paypal, etc. I can see on internet that it's upto 35 to 40 LPA. But I want to know what's the fixed, variable and share part in this CTC to get an idea of in-hand salary.
Overall idea to get a clue on how much fixed CTC should a SDE 2 get in a product based company.
This could be helpful in general for anyone applying in any company for a position like SDE 2, to get competitive in hand salary.

If you want a good idea of in house salary by region and experience level, check out the Robert Half guide. For some reason, whenever people ask this question on these types of forums, the answers give the impression that everybody is making bank in house. I'm class of '19, making 155k all in at a midsize company in the media and entertainment space
155k is definitely pretty good taking into account my experience level, my title, and the industry. I got lucky because this was a company that I worked at as a temp before law school and interned at during 1L summer, so I was able to jump over after only a few months in big law ... probably would have had to wait ~3 years to get an equivalent position. Without naming the actual company, think vice, refinery29, etc. That said, there's some wisdom to staying in big law for a few years regardless of whether you can go in house because it is good to have firm experience on your resume. I made the judgment that I would jump early because I want to work in media and entertainment long term and I hated the big law life, so it made sense to grab the opportunity.
Colorado requires employers to post a salary range for all open positions, so you can see base salary targets for different positions and company sizes in Denver. This includes in-house and firms.
True, but it certainly gives you an idea of base salary for mid-market in-house positions. Benefits are usually in the posting. Bonus is 10-30% and based on company performance. Equity is unknown. (I am in-house and can confirm the posted range and salary are not wildly different).
150K + 15% bonus with additional multipliers based on company performance + annual equity grant = ~ $300K/year in Los Angeles. Class of ‘12

135 + bonus + phenomenal 401k benefits. I live in a LCOL area, so this salary is very comfortable. Company has strict salary bands. My quality of life has improved dramatically, so 100% worth it and I am hoping for a long-term future here. Fifth year.

190K + up to 20% bonus (no equity) in NYC. Class of ‘18.
WLB is good with no late nights and almost no weekend work. Benefits seem pretty standard. But I am leaving the EOY bonus of 50K and the Covid bonus of 20K though
Also been wondering how much people make when they go in house (and what years they are), especially in New York!
