How do I get MBB good @ PPT? I’m a staff 2 in consulting & have only had long term projects; teams rarely used decks. I know ppt well, so the Q is more directed towards designing pretty slides.
Do any of the MBB or other non-big 4/t1-2 firms hire actuaries? Curious to see where exit paths are. I came from the Aon/WTW/Mercer space before joining Deloitte.
Did anyone lateral across MBB?
Looking to exit to MBB/tier 2 consulting. Do they/you take analysts 1-1.5 years out of undergrad? Will I have to start over or will I be considered an “experienced” BA/Associate?
Currently working as part of a CDD oriented team (EYP, S& DS, LEK) and got contacted by a recruiter from Mckinsey. Around ~1-2 years out of college and want to end up working on the buy side. Which opportunity will better set me up for that? At McKinsey there’s no guarantee I’d be doing CDD work and I’d have to go back a level but also the MBB brand reputation and exit opps are stront. Would love any thoughts on this.
What kind of work does MBB actually do? I’m pretty sure there is boring work happening everywhere, but essentially, are your coolest projects cooler than the coolest projects happening at Big Four, Accenture, etc.?
Do you enjoy the work at MBB? I know the hours can be long, but is the work interesting and/or enjoyable?
Has anyone ever had a hostile interviewer? It feels like he was trying to intimidate me. Very negative experience with MBB just now.
Need advice- How do I make my LinkedIn profile more attractive to recruiters from FAANG or MBB apart from listing the relevant experience? It seems like all recruiters that are reaching out lately, are from small firms and for jobs with lower compensation than my current position. When I tell them my desired compensation they think it is too high.
What do you think my chances are of Wharton HCM program 3.4 GPA Non-HSP Ivy, 730 GMAT, 2.5 years boutique life science consulting, pro-Bono consulting and firm UG recruitment ECs, white female, also looking at Columbia, Sloan, Yale, Tuck, and NYU, looking to transition to either healthcare IB, VC, or MBB
Didn’t get the MBB offer, so going FAANG
Lots of people talk about going from Tier 2 / Big 4 to MBB, but what’s the best way for year 1/2’s to do so? Would assume referrals from similarly leveled colleagues wouldn’t matter, online apps?
Should I still try to negotiate salary after accepting a offer? It is from Accenture for a security analyst position. Since I’m basically a new grad I assumed negotiating salary wouldn’t be worth it. Until I talked to someone on the security team there and he told me I should at least be a senior analyst since I am coming in with a Masters. Should I try to negotiate to a senior role and the salary or leave it? It’s my only cybersecurity offer. Also looking for FAANG,big4or MBB referrals :)
Anyone made a transition from FAANG to B4 or MBB at PPMD level? I understand that culture and WLB is different... but was the transition hard or easy? I am a senior leader with FAANG and exploring options. My background is in sales, delivery, solutions development etc, MBA and MS. Thank you.
At third round interview with Sionic- anyone know much about them? Are they perceived as premium / b4 / mbb/ etc?
I wish my company cared less about “optics” and just valued good work. Literally had some one tell me it’s bad optics to WFH right now. It’s not like there’s a pandemic or anything 🙄
Does going on an unpaid paternity leave impact H1B status or i140 status ? For some reasons I am considering unpaid 12 weeks leave, and wondering if there is any risk to visa or my approved i140 status.
USAA or Navy Federal Credit Union?
Hello Fishbowl, I am moving back to Hawaii to work and finish my degree, but I still have a year lease in NYC, I am looking for someone who would be interested in sharing the 2 bedroom Upper East Side apartment with me, not to live in but to have as a vacation or second home that you can visit monthly for however long you say, we’d take turns living in the apartment give each other notice before visiting. Feel free to DM if you or someone you know is interested.
Anyone here use Celsius to generate interest on cryptocurrency? What do you think of the security, insurance and competency of the exchange? Is this a wise place to keep a large amount of cryptocurrency for a sustained period of time?
What is checked in background verification process? Will exaggerated project work in resume be an issue? 😕
Think anyone will notice if I wear the same dress to the holiday party for the second year in a row? It stands out but was expensive so...
Anyone here willing to connect from EY-Parthenon ? Have a call set up with the recruiter for a SA role in deals technology. Was wondering if someone from that group would be willing to chat and discuss the recruiting process?
Hi Fishes , I got an offer from a start up company randomtrees ., Anyone working there ,? How's the work culture etc
What are typical promotion timelines at RSM management consulting? Had a friend get promoted and it seems very fast but curious how much of a stud he is! Thanks!
Started with big 4, now at BDO.. work in IT audit (have had very successful fast tracked career in IT audit) and at Manager rank. Interested in moving over more-so to cyber security type consulting and escaping the IT audit prison (aren’t we all lol). Any advice on education / certificate requirements on how to transition more-so into cyber type space?
Does anyone actually get complimentary upgrades due to United status? I just hit gold and so far it seems like a hoax.
Planning to have a baby next year. Anyone have suggested resources to look through to better understand what medical insurance plan to go with?
Is there still increased demand for industry hires? Been working in CPG for 3 years and wondering if I have a shot…
KPMG Strategy 🐟, what's a realistic base + bonus look like for Senior Associate coming in with 5.5 YOE (mostly relevant) and a target MBA?
Applying to HSW R1 with my significant other. Anyone else in the same boat or have any tips?
I recent read about movements to legalize ban on interfaith unions in India. I know we have a lot of India-based fish here and wanted to see how real this is in your lives, what your POV is. Being US-based, I suspect that I don't really fully understand some cultural / societal layers of my Indian colleagues' lives that just don't come up in our interactions. My colleagues are urban, well-educated, and young, but do issues like this still affect your lives? https://www.nytimes.com/2021/07/20/world/india-interfaith-marriage.amp.html
