D1 has a unique view. I’ve been with EY Pas for 10 months, I came from Deloitte. I’ve loved my time at PAS so far. Gotten some amazing experience, the people are mostly great and really smart. And the market is extremely hot.
OP - the PAS structure is dysfunctional. Also not enough investment in tools, systems, digital capabilities. Change management does not belong in PAS.
Pros: EY people generally nice, firm has done some good things with PTO, most engagements are good learning experiences, even if just from industry perspective. Cons: you’re aligned to Tax not Advisory and feel like a stepchild, lack of investment in methods and tools, poor technical training, there’s a lot of fluff and flash in the pan leadership
Lots of empty fluff, indeed! Nice folks for the most part but utter chaos in the org itself.
I used to work there and left. Most of the good performers get frustrated and leave. I would avoid certain practice areas for sure. What type of work do you do, OP?
Frustrated by what? Background is learning and development but also have experience in talent, OD, and change management. Also have an offer from KPMG
OP, I just had first round interviews w KPMG. Mind if I DM?
Sure! Let’s chat
Agree with the criticism on its own However I’m a high performer and really happy here. It’s a meritocracy and the partners are for the most part accessible and helpful. They are also motivated to help us do well. I’ve heard other places have more backstabbing and I’ve never been told to put something personal/worklifebalance at risk over a client deliverable.
