Having one of those days where little errors are creeping into things. Lateraled from a Tier 2 big law firm to a Tier 1 and questioning my decision. My entire team has been staying online til like 2am every night.

My firm has been pushing us to go back to the office since June, and every single day now they are sending pro-office propaganda. You can convince me there are benefits to being in the office, but good grief, let us work from home once or twice a week! Otherwise I’m out.

I’m a lawyer based in Europe. I’m lateraling to a firm in a new jurisdiction on Monday and negotiated a decent pay increase a few months ago (new jurisdiction has significantly higher income taxes so negotiated based on a comparable net pay). My old firm has just announced it is increasing salaries by around 15% which will almost negate what I negotiated at new firm. New firm doesn’t review salaries till September. What are my options here so that I’m not out of pocket?

Is it common for attorneys to go from big law to the EEOC, state departments (like CA DFEH), or DOJ Civil division (employment)?
