Benefits and culture/WLB are good. Workload can be tough and often there is a lack of support guidance. If you're a self-starter, should be fine.

Thank you for your input. This is definitely promising coming from what it seems an inside employee. I have received numerous mixed responses, to my surprise, several negative ones. But everyone’s personal situation is different. Nevertheless, I am hopeful and excited about the opportunity. And yes to self motivation and taking initiative! Thanks again!

I think IBM is pretty good and they seem to be quite flexible from what I've seen other colleagues described. Agreed with lack of guidance but that's most places these days unfortunately

Thanks for the input! Yes, this is an uncharted territory for everyone. Really appreciate it.

Great bonus and benefits. The wlb is kind of meh.... as the workload can be kind of heavy. As far as career ladder I have been able to move up quickly. I feel like they take notice if you work hard.

That’s great, congratulations on your success! Definitely excited about taking on new initiatives. Thanks for sharing your input. Truly appreciate it.

Do you record your unbillable time? I have had conflicting responses. I have been told it's not good for efficiency calculations but others have told me if your still doing work let people know. For example, I get weird international stuff sometimes that not everyone gets (I think maybe? ) and I need to reread the 5471 rules or 8865 rules as I do the returns. I have been told not to bill for this but if I didn't have to spend time to do such things my billable hours would be higher

I've been in PeopleOps (mostly focused on TA Ops) for over 9 years now. I've somehow gotten by without a degree in HR or a certification, but would like to get some more education to continue to advance my career. What are your thoughts on PHR vs SPHR vs SHRM for someone with my years of experience and current role as a manager?

So I’m in people ops (for lack of a better term) at a national nonprofit for 3 years now and I am *struggling* to pivot into more traditional HR roles and people ops positions outside of the nonprofit space. Has anyone here successfully made that pivot? What did you find most helpful?

Hello fellow HR pros! I really need your opinions on HR certifications. I am deciding between PHR and SHRM-cp. I have read just about all there is online comparing the two and can not decide. My heart is telling me PHR, my mother in law (an HRBP) is telling me to go with SHRM, as it’s more widely recognized, more established and a larger network in general. I work for a 350~ company who is growing rapidly through M&A. Passions/interests are compliance, strategic vision, M&A, branding and culture
