- People who lie about basic attributes about themselves.
- folks who just want to have a pen-pal rather than put forth the effort to take things further (within comfortability).
- the holier than thou attitudes and judgements
And the grand prize: Ghosting and/or ignoring communication, or not providing a resolution and closure (yes, I know you don’t owe anyone anything, but if someone hasn’t been creepy/out of pocket, they should be given some feedback or a reason why it didnt/wasn’t going to work out).
D1 covered the main ones.
A few more would be:
- people who get very comfortable after one conversation with x, hearts and calling you sweetie or habibti 🤢
- A one sided conversation or seemingly no effort to keep it flowing
- The audacity/entitlement; one I experienced was a guy I spoke to, in our first ever call, I asked what was his view on polygamy. He responded with “do I look like a one woman type of guy?”
I honestly love when guys can’t even find one wife after years of searching but are already talking about wife number 2 😂

Muslims shouldn't be dating
You can be on these apps and not “date”. I make it clear from the get go that I’m not interested in being someone’s cafe/restaurant buddy. My family is quite practicing and dating is/was never a thing. Every guy that I’ve matched with and was serious about marriage have had no problem with meeting me and my wali. The ones that do, well, weren’t serious to begin with.
You can be on these apps with pure intentions but just pray to Allah that the people you match with also have pure intentions which is a gamble.
