Do you have small talks with your manager and directs? Feel like an as*hole for not liking it. My boss likes to start our 1 on 1s with topics around family, trip plans, hobbies, and other small talks. I don’t care how his weekend was. Or his baby. And personally I don’t like sharing much about my family or personal life so the small talks thing is very annoying to me. He’s super nice and I like him a lot but I just don’t feel like we should try hard to get to know each other via small talks.
Curious about the salary progression of others. How much did you make at age 20, 25, 30, and 35?
When you get an internal promotion what percentage raise should you expect? For instance from a Director to Sr. Director.

How are EY GPS health insurance plans? Interesting in medical only. What are the premium and deductibles for a family. Thanks y’all!
All-my dad has been guilt tripping me into visiting him. He is 8 hours away driving without stopping. I am pregnant and am not traveling anywhere where I can’t drive non stop - not even seeing my in laws 90 minutes away. I know it sounds crazy but that is where I am. He half jokingly said I could wear Depends. Please tell me I’m not crazy and that it’s okay for me to not go and my dad should be at least somewhat understanding. We don’t have the best relationship.
I fucking hate the expectation that "men must provide" or "women must act a certain way". That's damaging to a lot of relationships. I love division of labor and working with each other's strengths and weaknesses without so much emphasis on gender roles. I'm a big supporter of utilitarian relationship that strives for the good of the partnership and each party.
What are the economics of opening a luxury watch/jewelry store? I know jewelry and watches have insane margins, but what kind of licensing fees do companies like Omega, Rolex, etc. charge? What kind of money do you need to start in the business?
How long do you think before we can go back to the normal fb posts on compensation, credit cards, layoffs, and general complaints about travel??
I'm interviewing with Deloitte Consulting for a Senior Manager role. I'm an experienced hire with an MBA and 10yrs relevant experience based in Southern CA. Based on Glassdoor and several really helpful links from here (thank you!), it seems the base would be $210-230k, am I on par here? What are typical signing bonuses these days? Glassdoor suggests 10% bonus, but the recruiter told me north of 25%. I'd really appreciate TC guidance from anyone else knowledgeable in this space.
SM on my team is a horrible boss, I caught him posting a ton of anti vax stuff on LinkedIn. Should I report him to HR for creating an unsafe environment to get him out of the way? On this client for another 4 months at least.
Hi 🐠 anyone have experience working at the Capital Group Companies? What’s the culture like?
I am trying to negotiate an internal base increase. Context is that I am at a FinTech following a key strategic and successful M&A in which I was the sole program manager. For reference I have 3 years of experience and have been offered a 10% base increase as a part of my promotion (current salary is 120k). I feel this is quite low given the market but would really appreciate any input
