What practice group are you in that you’ve got up to $6,000 in extra cash flow in a given month (as a manager)?
Hi there I'm Recruiting for Pega at Capgemini. Let's connect! My email is tamara.abdul@capgemini.com.
Start with a highly diversified ETF like Vanguard total stock market ETF. Then once you have accumulated a solid base (40-50k long term), you can diversify some of it into other areas like international, smallcap, growth vs value, etc. After 500k or so , there are other opportunities, but I assume you will want to take a break for a house downpayment, which at 6000k/mo shouldn't be a big deal depending on the house and area. in my midwestern area, 6k/mo could buy you a whole starter condo in 9 or so months a nice 3 bdr starter home in 17 mos. (Not ssying with low interest rates you should pay cash for the home, make the downpayment and invest the rest. You'll be well on your way to being financially well off.
Research the expense ratio of the ETF vs a comparable mutual fund. Typically lower fees with a mutual fund.
