Anyone willing to share insights about AlixPartners in Milan? I couldn’t find much on internet. Basically I’m just trying to understand a bit more about the office culture, size of the teams and typical engagements, comp&benefits and career path. The position will be Vice President. Currently I work on a boutique firm in London and I’m trying to move to Milan without compromising too much my current position (SC) and comp.
I'm really excited, my company has appointed me to open a new branch in the US and hire employees.
We are defining my role name and salary, Do you know what role name is used in the US for such position?
Thank you so much
Are there any BCBAs here?
What's the most rewarding thing in this field for you guys? Definitely not salary, although it's just decent.
For me, it's working with parents and when they are onboard, and we see the massive progress in the kids.
Lastly, what's your ideal salary range for a 20 billable hours BCBA?
What are some negotiation tips/phrases you have for when you receive that phone call from the recruiter offering you the job and telling you the comp? For both base and signing. Help!

Ok attempt 2 at demystifying partner comp:
This Q is going to spark some debate. Are the following ranges for average comp for partner with 2-3 YOE accurate? (Not meant to diminish any firms!)
Group 1 - MBB, Tier 2 - Kearney, LEK etc, “deep specialists” - ZS, OW etc: $750k - $1.5M
Group 2: B4, “broad specialists” - Navigant, W. Monroe etc: $400-600K
Group 3: Regional - North Highland, Point B etc: $250-400K
Just out of morbid curiosity: do they really chase after you for the remainder of your pro-rated sign-in bonus if you leave earlier than anticipated? What if you get laid off?
I'm in the offer stage for a job at Google. I live in Colorado, but will be working remotely. However, they are basing the salary on a Colorado location, which is actually lower than most of their other regions. Should I ask them to provide the minimum salary range for the role as per sb19-085 (8-5-20)?

I currently work for a company that has 91 employees and I’m the only HR person here. I only make 56K a year and I’m for sure getting screwed since I live in Lancaster, PA. I have a bachelors in Comm/HR with 3 YOE in HR.
What should my salary range be? This is great experience but I’d like to know if it’s even worth the stress. I’m looking to work remote and would love to still be involved in HR. What’s a good asking price for a remote HR generalist position with my experience?

What roles in smaller startups do strategy consultants usually get? Seems like they mostly hire engineering roles, and the only option would be a specific functional group (e.g. finance) rather than a “strategy” role?
14 days alcohol free!! Naltrexone plus therapy is what finally made it click into place. it was easy to drive by gas stations without stopping for that tall boy. Had my first real trigger though yesterday when I was stuck in the car with the kids fighting in the back. Didn’t give in but I seriously felt like I needed it. Analyzing the trigger I see its tied back to getting lectured in the car as a kid and feeling trapped and withdrawing. So pleased I’m able to make this progress.
What are your tried and true hangover remedies?
I have an offer with Citi, initially it was hybrid model and looks like they are moving back to wfo.. they told only now and I dont have any other offer in hand. due to personal constraints I need wfh or some flexibility types, but they seem a bit rigid as its not in their policy..
Is it good to join and then try pushing them for wfh.. or search for another offer..? 16 yoe, PM...
I love my job, the company and people I work alongside. But recently I've come to the realization that maybe there's something out there that's even better for me. But here's my problem...
Is it worth to get an MBA? I have my CFP already and see I can get the degree online at Murray State by completing 8 total courses. Is it even worth it? other university’s that give CFP credit?

Considering an offer from Amex, but learnt that the firm gave no hikes (or a nominal 5%) this year. Seems like a red flag, looking to understand how this was perceived by current employees
Thoughts on breathable mesh crib liner once baby can roll around? Concerned about legs getting stuck
I got an offer from SAP but can't see my application status as offered.

Vets using Tricare with a family. I’m out and can use Tricare with the VA, but my wife and I each use our company offerings for our family; which obviously come at cost. Is it worth it to switch to Tricare? Has anyone done this and can share details? Positives/negatives?
I’m a new business and only have a couple online reviews so far (from friends). How do I encourage customers to post reviews?
My new manager planned a last minute team retreat in another country w/o including me in the conversation about availabilities to travel…
We’re remote, so people freely work in other places and I had a week trip planned months ago. She decided it’s also the only week “everyone is available” (6 ppl) even after finding out I can’t go, asking me to move my trip. (I cant)
She wont approve my vacation either. I don’t even know how to address this, or is it my fault? It just rubs me the wrong way.
Hi guys, just a quick question, I have transferred my PF recently from my previous employer which i seeved for 6 years, though the PF got transferred but i can see pension fund is still there with the previous employer. How to transfer that? Any help is highly appreciated. Thanks!
Additional Posts in In-House Counsel
Transitioning from junior in house at a very small company where I only did small easy contract review to a large multinational corporation in a few weeks, and have those weeks off. Does anyone have any book recommendations I can read until then that actually offer good insight and helpful tips?!
I didn’t learn that much on the business side and I love reading, so seems like a good idea to relax while also preparing a bit.
Have you had to change your start date after accepting an offer and how did it go? I told them I need to give 30 day notice and so I set my start date (incorrectly) assuming the background check and drug screen would take a few days to clear. However, the drug screen is now taking over a week and a half (still not finished, maybe tomorrow). Apparently things are much slower due to staffing issues and labs are backed up. It’s cutting into my 30 day notice significantly. Thoughts?
Can anyone recommend any business books for - new in house counsel? I feel like I am totally lost when it come to the business side of the company I work for. I work for a software startup if that helps. Thanks!
Looking for advice on dealing with a boss who is extremely difficult to work for. For example, my colleague has worked entirely remotely since COVID hit in March. She had planned to make 2 trips out to her family out of state during the holidays (for Thanksgiving & Christmas) but recently requested to stay during the interim, when it looked like her apartment might be under voluntary evacuation due to wildfires. Said colleague lives alone and found it beneficial to be around family (cont below)
Boss is gaslighting? Just experienced this for the first time - and would love to hear others’ experiences, too. For the past few years, my micromanager boss asked that I send them every draft of every contract to review, no matter how minor. In my performance review, when asked why I wasn’t promoted, they said that a reason was because I need to learn to stop sending them drafts to review! I said that I only did this because they asked for it, and they said they don’t remember saying that!
Any one in compliance at an investment bank? What was interview process like? How long is interview process?
What are some questions that you wished you asked in the interview process for going in-house?
Does anyone work at Compass who would be willing to refer me to one of the real estate legal positions that are open? I’ve applied to LA and the remote Seattle one.
Recently moved in-house and struggling with how to document my contributions (keep a “brag list” if you will) for purposes of review season and eventual bonus/promotion/raise discussions. At a firm it was fairly easy to point to high billables, high profile deals, praise from particular partners or clients. Now I’m struggling because my work is so….day to day. Mostly negotiating typical sales contracts. Very few opportunities for visibility or high profile contributions if that makes sense.
For any San Diego attorneys out there- roughly what TC could one expect in-house in SD for a commercial/contracts/tech attorney with 8 YOE? I’m currently in-house in the Bay Area and trying to get a sense of how compensation compares in San Diego.
Can anyone recommend a good recruiter for in house jobs in California (SoCal to be specific)? Much appreciated.
Real estate solo attorneys — do you close all your deals through a title company? Are smaller clients OK with paying escrow agent fees?
Any in-house attorneys at a PE/VC fund that can provide insight into how carried interest works? It seems like a bit of a black box and specific to a given fund, but even a description of the low level mechanics (vesting, relative %, etc) would be super helpful!
I am 7 years out in a transactional practice (real estate) and have an opportunity to move in house at a regionally respected company from a midsize firm. I have WFH flexibility at my current firm but bill about 1850-1900 per year. It would be about a 25% paycut. I have also been offered partnership starting in 2022 if I stay - not entirely clear what that long term structure looks like (would have to develop a partially independent book in next 3-5 years). Am I crazy if I leave?
Calling all employment lawyers…please share the following details: base comp, bonus, equity, YOE, private vs public company, industry.
Does anyone have any insight into culture at Apple Content Legal (or in-house legal at Apple generally)?
Does anyone have any recommendations for software or other methods to track projects? I'm looking at the One Note to do and it seems helpful, but right now the volume of projects in expecting seems to be so large that I think something more advanced would be helpful. My GC also expects a weekly meeting to catch up on everything I'm working on, so obviously want to be prepared for those.
You’re not alone, but know it’s skyrocketing for a reason. If you’re fine with that trade-off, then this is a good market to make the change.
I pulled the lever. So far, no regrets so long as the paychecks keep coming…
Good for you! 🙂
The comp is super tempting… but I get enough parental guilt and already feel like I miss out on my kids too much when I work less than 40 hrs.
Wondering same. Do they take people with boutique background or only big law background? Also, can you lateral after 10+ out or do they prefer more junior?
I went back but I chose practice area and firm carefully. EC/VC, firm known for having a great culture.
