Question for BCG fish regarding what level to target. What are the levels and associated years at each level? I’m wanting to come in at the consultant level with 3.5 YOE + an industry relevant masters. Majority of my experience is B4 strategy consulting , then shifting industry strategy for the last year. Boston Consulting Group
Is it just me, or is the big 4 sales culture low energy? I get the RFP process is painful, having done it in other industries myself, but the way I've seen most people sell in these firms seems mediocre for the amount of support that gets thrown at these opportunities. Maybe it's the ex-finance consultant in me, but the approaches I've seen in my 5 year tenure so far have me thinking this isn't catering to my strengths and won't be the best move to stick it out to SM/PPMD.
Currently a first year big 4 audit associate who does not want to stay in public accounting and wants to be able to teach part-time at a community college/university. I have a Bachelor’s Degree and will have my CPA license soon. Since these schools typically require a Master’s to teach, is it dumb to get a Master’s in Accounting? I don’t have much interest in other subjects for graduate school.
Is it hard to switch from a non-big 4 accounting firm to a big 4 accounting firm? Also are there any jobs at big 4 that don’t require 60+ hours a week?
🐠 anyone able to share levels and comp benchmarks at McK and BCG expert track. SM level at B4. 9 yoe.
Does everyone who joins Big 4 have a 2 years and done mindset or just me? I feel like I just joined Kentucky and enjoying the ride until draft day.
Those of you that left Big 4...how long did it take you to find another job? I physically can’t take this place anymore and thinking about giving my two weeks tomorrow. I can live off savings for a co
What does a manager with 8-10 years in Big 4 consulting experience (5-6 years in FSI) make in the market today?
Hi, my wife is a CPA, tax manager in B4, trying to move into finance (FP&A) in industry. Anyone (or know someone) successfully navigated that switch and any tips on setting her up for success? Getting a MBA is not in the cards unfortunately
What’s the best travel policy by firm? We have nothing but hoping to be upgraded... Flying coast to coast on economy every week is exhausting... I assume MBB allows first class flights. Big 4?
Questions for past/ current Accenture or Big 4 folks. I noticed in some threads that SC level only applies to Strategy consulting (at Accenture- not sure about big 4). Could Product Manager be SC level if I have my MBA or is it not even considered a Strategy role? And do they only consider you an “MBA hire” if it’s from a top tier school? Lastly, I’ve seen quite a big salty range for MBA hires. Anyone care to share the latest? TIA.
Do you think the current situation would affect pending offers? Received a verbal offer from another B4 but concerned the contract will be delayed due to what’s going on around the world/markets.
Would you leave an amazingly supportive group of people at big 4 to restart the hustle at another big 3?
Just received an offer from another big 4 firm that was substantially less than I currently make (more than 10%). Do you guys think it is worth negotiating or should I just pass on it?
Leaving PwC. Weird that I can't go back to industry. Can only think about the other big 4.
Fish ... really need some help with next move. 10 years of experience in the big 4 in the forensic and dispute space. Struggling to move out of here ... industry seems like a pay cut...
Launching a management consulting firm in two weeks, very optimistic iA. If you have been recently laid off or not working and would like to connect, let me know. Also looking for help, few hours a week before the go live.
Anybody have renters insurance experience due to damage from their building? So not their fault? My building’s pipes burst and did some damage to my apartment unit. Luckily minimal damage to my property but replacing a few items. Anybody dealt with this before? Wondering how I deal with insurance—is it my renters insurance or do I work with the building’s insurance? Also already getting reduced rent for the month.
How do I have the conversation with a Partner about writing a letter of rec for a PhD program? Will I put myself a risk of being laid off if I express interest in continuing my education?
I am starting to question my existence in this world. I have a nice job, decent salary, i work out and eat healthy, maintain my health, read 3 to 4 books every month, dont have any personal commitments (single), in my early 30s and things cant be any better. Of course with the exception that i had a real bad break-up with my fiancé 6 months ago. And i dont have any symptoms of depression, but there are days when i just feel like what is all this for?
Best consulting firms in Houston for Healthcare?
What are your thoughts on exiting to a Manager role at Accenture Strategy vs. DigitalBCG “project lead”? I eventually want to exit to a FAANG and do something around Business/Product Strategy or Product Management like most consultants 😂. I would say Business Strategy is probably more realistic with my work experience. I more than 5 years of experience and do not have an Ivy League MBA. Thanks in advance!
Hi there Will be a newly qualified lawyer in corporate tech in the UK in September (after a two year training contract). Looking to make a move to the US (the Austin, Texas tech scene) and take the Texas bar exam. I would like to know what my options are in terms of in house/Big Law roles in corporate tech. For more context, I am a US citizen (no visa requirements) and work in the city (UK equivalent of Big Law). Thanks very much.

My salary is $160k. I just became eligible for 401k contributions (6 months after start date), with my employers matching set forth below (total of 4%, or $6,400). Am I eligible for the full $6,400 employer contribution for the year, or is it capped at 4% of my compensation each paycheck? “The Company will make a Matching Contribution on your behalf in an amount equal to: (i) 100% of your contributions that are not in excess of 3% of your Compensation, plus” .. cont’d below
Does Big4 hire ACCA individuals from international countries (they will not need visa sponsorship and would be legally authorized to work in USA).

How can I start hunting? Any steps or tried-out resources I can leverage? Help out a fella trying to do his job better 🙏

First day back on the job after paternity leave. Never had a harder time leaving the house than this morning...
