So I guess China gets out of this because they didn’t test? You realize there are other countries that aren’t testing like we are, hence will never have cases come even remotely close.
I love how the left complains when there’s not enough testing and now that we’ve tested the most, you then start to reference cases numbers. Not shocking that Trump jokes around about stopping testing.

What does Mexico or Egypt have to do with this? Comparing our bad response to responses that were even worse doesn’t make our situation good in itself. If you want to make a comparison towards countries that are similar to us then use Europe - large population, westernized, and developed.
There are two issues with his statement:
1) It’s just deflection and inaccurate as referenced by the article above
2) What his statement ignores is we were on track to beat COVID enough to begin reopening, but we completely blitzed it amongst other things, so now we have significant spikes. There were bound to be spikes, but the magnitude we have them at is above that expectation. Like I said, testing will uncover more cases. However, the increase in positive cases should be offset by the increase in negative tests when it comes to the rate. Our rate should be flat or have a minor increase, but here we are spiking significantly in FL, TX, AZ, CA, etc.
US is the third most populous country. Brazil is also way up there in population. Of course we’re going to have more cases than most; we have more people! But as an accountant, I’d like to think you’d be aware of the concept of *per capita*.
