Been working for some years (under 30) and this is the first project I've had feedback that I seem angry/ have an attitude. I've always prided myself on being professional and polite - that's part of my brand, so having this constantly thrown in my face has been exhausting... anyone else had to deal with this? Tips?

My firm has always had weekly meetings, and they are now held on zoom since we started working from home. Is it terrible to have my video off? I’m a junior, and I think it probably looks good to have it on, but it is the last thing I want to do at 8am on Mondays.

I'm looking to informational interview and lateral into another firm with my desires practice area. however I'm afraid that by sending out emails to a bunch of contacts could come across as spammy and word could spread? Thanks
It REALLY bothers me when my partners trash-talk opposing counsel in private. I feel like as lawyers we should have some kind of professional camaraderie (that allows us to detangle competitiveness of the judicial process from personal affronts) and these situations instantly make me mistrust these partners / expect them to trash talk me behind my back😕
Any advice on Nelson Mullins for an entry level associate? Currently in the midst of going through the interview process.
I’ve been a consumer bankruptcy associate for 3 years pay is 65k. The other attorneys at the firm only do confirmation matters. I handle Mislc. motions, orders, confirmations, 341 hearings, mass court appearances, 85% of client calls for random nonsense and anything random that comes up. I was told I can only get a raise if I take on more responsibilities. This can’t be normal???? What practice areas can i shift to with such a niche field?
How do you strategize when assignments are largely not urgent? I had several files that were longer-term and I had a long time to work on them, but I just wasn’t motivated to do so and kept working on shorter term things instead, and now they’re all coming due and some are blowing up because I didn’t organize/prioritize well. The next few weeks are going to be a crazy amount of catch-up. Any advice so I can avoid doing this to myself again?
Anybody struggling with fellow associates in big law? Currently working with associates that will stab you in the back at all costs and don’t care about building friendships, etc. This environment is mentally draining and I feel like I am an outlier for being kind. Truly shows that nice people finish last.
I have 5 interviews this week for what would be a move in-house. The last of these interviews is with HR. Typically, when HR asks me for my salary expectations, they're the first interview, so I punt and say something to the effect of "I need to learn more about the position and its requirements." With HR being last, however, I can't really say that. What would you recommend I say to get them to make the "opening bid"?
Would you rather: never draft discovery responses again or never have to do any more legal research?
I’m in insurance defense in New York. I just received a job offer for $100K and a billing requirement of 2,200 annually. Thoughts or opinions?
