Internalized racism is the biggest demon Asians are facing today. As someone who grew up in Asia, it's hard to understand that mindset.

struggling in my relationship. Recently my bf’s been struggling with his mental health so I mentioned to him that he might want to consider finding a therapist for daily maintenance. 9 months later, he hasn’t done it and he’s become a wreck - struggling at grad school, not helping in the house, messing up/not doing critical tasks like paying rent. But he wont help himself and just complains, and he’s starting to hurt my mental health too. Any advice to help him help himself is appreciated!

Partner says to employees things like this:

- You don’t listen! You never listen! Focus!
- I don’t like that you don’t have precision I refuse anything less than perfect
And all these remarks are towards women in the team.
He’s operating as managing partner taking on more or less product management, while we have a senior product manager on the team that he cripples(a female)

I have worked 6 years in the midwest and have found it nearly impossible to built mentorship and strong work relationships with senior white people (both genders) above age 45 who are US born and bred, the WASPy kind. I can never find a way to network into their "groups". Yet I've been able to build awesome relationships with senior people and mentors who are Indian, Asian, Brown and European white. Is this in my head, or have some of you experienced the same?

Have a question to Asians here. I’m mid-30s from Asia and am making lower end of 6 figures currently. My older sister was making more than I did until a few months back and lost one job due to covid so is now not making much. But she is married and has a house and a car of her own. I need advice or tips on how to sound more confident during calls. I know what I’m talking about but get anxious about making other people look back, especially the client. I’ll phrase things as a question to nudge the client in the right direction instead of making it a statement or an “we should first discuss x”. I also use filler words like I think. I use to be very direct but then got feedback I was too direct and now I don’t know to get back my confidence
