I just got promoted over a friend and I am really worried about how this will impact her. To be honest I think she is even more deserving of the promotion than me. What do I do to make it better so our friendship isn’t poisoned by this?
Will high tax states reduce property taxes, and raise sales taxes to game the new tax scheme?
Just hit 200k base with promotion to Director!
First year level 9 (consultant) expecting to hear about pay raise this Wednesday (will be minimal) I am leaving the firm and new offer wants me to start on 11/26, should I ask to start 12/4 so I can..
Anyone hoping for a mid-year promotion heard anything yet? Starting to worry that no news is bad news...
I was due for a promotion but then covid hit, and during the peak of layoffs/furloughs, I was given the run-around that we have agency wide promotion freezes, etc. Over the past month, a handful of people have been promoted. I know everyone's situation is different but I can't help feeling snubbed. How do I know whether they are genuinely trying to promote me and can't, versus them stringing me along for as long as possible? I dont want it to come to having to bring another offer to the table..
Everytime I ask my boss for a raise he tells me there is a freeze. How should I handle the situation?
Asking for a friend who is currently a consultant in Accenture’s security practice going up for promotion. What is the typical salary range for senior consultant’s in BCGs Platinion division?
Wanted to wait until after promotion notification to bring up a transfer. How long to wait now so it doesn’t seem too obvious that was my reasoning? I have about five months before I need the transfer
I am working with a few clients looking to raise capital to bring medical research into the clinic. This is a new endeavor for the firm. I am looking for ideas?
One of the SMs is supporting my promotion case but they are lately trying to micromanage me and ask all nagging questions unnecessarily. Unsure how to handle this professionally.
As someone who has only worked at EY and has no other work experience or “passion,” how do I begin looking? I’m a high performer in CA with a cpa and working in tax but I don’t feel like I have enough time for myself with all the extra work from people leaving during the never ending busy seasons. I’m in my mid twenties and feel like work is my life. I think I’ll be satisfied with six figures for a while, which I’d be pretty close to after my raise in October anyways, and 40 hour work weeks.
Up for a promotion from SC to M. Just got an offer to work for a nonprofit doing the work I love, but with a 10-percent salary cut from my Deloitte base. Would of course have a better WLB. Thoughts?
Currently on parental leave. As a father I’m so dang thankful my firm has it and I can’t imagine how my immigrant parents manage to raise two kids without leave.
I have been poached by my manager about a promotion and am working on a review to share with him. I have continued to express my interest in working on an upcoming brand strategy work, my manager agreed verbally. I just found out that he actually gave the work to a new AE of my team. When I approached him, he didn't give much explanation but that my time will come. How should I navigate this?
I have an offer for a finance role from one of the faang companies out of Seattle. Total comp is little over $400k. Is this a respectable offer? I’m currently based out of a tier-3 city and working for one of the big4s.
What "hard truths" or insights has the coronavirus crisis revealed about your own firm and our larger industry? Let's be pretty open and honest here.
Anyone have experience using MS Teams chat over Southwest in-flight Wi-Fi? Not planning on being “that person” attending a meeting on a plane, just responding to any MS Teams chats that come my way so I don’t have to take PTO.
What TV channel/ shows you guys have going on in the background while you work from home - for stress release / avoid anxiety
Anyone else feeling like picking money over creative and craft? Might be a career killer but how bad is it to chase the money and go in house? Some in-house is pretty sweet (Spotify, Square space, FB) while others are blah. Is it okay to ditch agency life as a mid-level when you decide the portfolio isn’t worth it?
Posted yesterday about getting into a wreck. My insurance has determined that I was not at fault. So the other insurance will likely pay. Do I ask them to reimburse me for the cars diminished value ??
Currently interviewing for a position at UKG. Any one have feedback good or bad on the company?
How do I give my two week notice? Through initiating resignation on DNet? I’m also going to be away on vacation until 1.5 weeks before...
Hi there! I work for a tech start-up and I've been tasked with revisiting their compensation philosophy and propose a better structure. I think this will also require me to revisit job titles, existing talent and tenure, performance, career paths, and the organizational structure. Any useful tips as I tackle this big undertaking?

There’s a company that I really want to work for in the future, is it possible to convince them I apply for my green card now and then join them once the EAD card comes in post-GC approval?
Does it come off as arrogant when a candidate is transparent about their interviewing timeline with other agencies?
Can someone compare (type of work, exit opps, comp, etc.) consulting at a major firm for a tech sector group vs. a financial services sector group?
I’m looking to establish comp ranges (mostly IT and tech). What are some good options that are up to date, user friendly, and overall good resource? We are primarily remote but do have a small headquarters.
How easy is it to get a rotation at Google? I’m still in the stages of applying, but I’d like to ultimately transfer into something different than my current skill set. I figure it is easier to get a job that aligns exactly to my current skills sets, then transfer internally with a rotation.
Hey everyone! Recent transplant (26 F) who moved here during Covid (family reasons) so still not quite familiar with the areas. I’m currently living in Brentwood but looking to move. I’m considering Marina Del Rey as I want to be a bit closer to the office (in Venice) and the airport for when things open back up/travel resumes. I tried searching here but didn’t see a lot - what is the reputation of Mar Vista (and if possible - how is that different than Brentwood?). All opinions welcome! 🙂
Do your executives and ownership teams care about culture? Do they care about innovating? My top executive is very “stuck in their ways” and refuses to accept that he is creating disconnects with his team.
