While giving the tech interview as well as while having the HR discussion, I mentioned my expected CTC as 9-10 LPA(CTC). I cleared the interview and uploaded all the documents in the portal yesterday. Today mrng all the document verification was completed. But when I got the call for offer discussion, she asked what u expect. I said 9-10 LPA. She questioned me that on what basis I am asking for this much hike. She offered me 6.3 LPA as CTC with 21% variable. 5.2 as basic. Rest part in comments..

Any tips/tricks for the Booth interviews??
I was laid off in June. Most consulting companies are on a hiring freeze that I’ve talked to. It’s pretty hard on my psyche to not get down on myself. I worked so hard to get to Deloitte and now it feels like I’m starting over. It’s tough. Any advice on companies that are hiring? I only want to go if it is a fit not just anywhere you know. Thanks.
My boss and mentor was recently laid off with the cuts made last week, and I have a gut feeling I’m next. I’ve tried my best to stay positive with my current agency, but it’s time to move on. I need a change of pace. Understand just about every shop is on a hiring freeze, but anyone need a strategist?

Anyone find it suspect when some Partners throw around "I'm sure we all would prefer to be in person..." type things? Like do you hate your family or something? Maybe I'm getting to used to remote work 😬

I have an I-94 attached to I/797 notice with expiration date of 2/1/2023. Do you think I’d be able to submit a I-593 COS to b2 based on this I-94 date before leaving work? I want to have 6 months before leaving US for good. My concern is that the I-94 expires right with the h1b on the last day of work. I’d be quitting voluntarily so I don’t think the 60 days grace period applies. Just wanted to hear your general thoughts before reaching out to immigration lawyer.
128k for a newly promoted manager in advisory risk cyber tier 1 city (masters with no MBA) and about 3 years relevant work experience in the US and 2 irrelevant work exp overseas, fair pay?
Ladies, not a mom related post but tangentially related. I am asking because this feels like a safe space: just got offered to apply for an internal strategy role at ACN. I have done some work with...
Considering following offers: 1. Another B4: Manager, $195K base + $30K sign on bonus 2. Smaller consulting firm: Managing Consultant, $220K base + ESOP + $10K sign on bonus 3. Mid-Sized Tech: Sr. Product Manager, $170K + $150K RSU + well known for paying good bonus and yearly RSU. Will require move to relatively expensive city next year. Current: Manager, $165K, 7+ YOE, Undergrad, MCOL, will probably move to next level in couple of months.
Anyone know of job opportunities for a UK qualified solicitor (corporate law) in Germany? Doesn't necessarily have to be legal counsel, open to other roles, preferably not a big corporate firm (mental health reasons). S.O. and I are moving to Germany, both are allowed to work there due to EU nationality so visa is not an issue. Unfortunately not great German language skills (fully aware this poses a problem). Would really appreciate any help on this, TIA.
If I didn’t get a return offer from a summer internship, does that make me ineligible for rehire on a background check for a full time job? For context, I didn’t get fired or do anything illegal or rude. I showed up and tried every day. I just wasn’t as good with the soft skills and coding, and even then, I didn’t get anything lower than a 3/5 in my reviews. 3 was met expectations and I think that’s average. I also got some 4’s if that helps.
Interviewing with a startup and have a power day with a couple of my would-be direct reports. Any suggestions on what to ask / focus on?
