Products I worked on previously were sold to a new company. I am a good fit because of my experience. Hello, I have 2.5 YOE in Corp. Finance and I'm thinking about switching to consulting. What are some paths that I could consider outside of Finance?

I'm halfway through a contract position and enjoying it, and would like to transfer to full-time, but I worry about the 90-day gap in employment and that I wouldn't be able to find the same position remotely with this company. (have finance probs I won't delve into now.) Not sure how to a) tell my manager that I want to transfer to FTE but do not want to move or b) how/when to figure out my next move. Anyone willing to DM/maybe give some advice?

At what point does “ego” stop mattering? Over the past 5 years I’ve worked my way to being an Account Manager, but ultimately my career goal is to work for the government. There’s an opportunity to be an admin assistant working for the government, and would be a nice way for me to get in and move up. But the title change from Account Manager to Assistant is a big deterrent. Logically I know that it doesn’t matter, but emotionally it’s hard to feel like I am taking a major career step back?
