Thats legitimately insane. And potentially indicative of how they think things work. I would use this as an opportunity to understand if this expectation is the norm or just a terrible interview formality. If its the latter, express your concerns and as about the depth required for each. If its the former, run.
So agencies are having us pitch them now?

I just want to qualify my answer as I see a lot of people have revisited this. I tailored my answer to your title @op. If you are a creative I presume you have a book and people can look at the best of your best that way. There is not need for an “assignment” — that is juvenile to be honest!
If it’s a technical role of some sort and they need to grasp your ability to code etc... then some type of test is ok IMO (as part of the overall process).
Charge them ECD day rates as kill fee. No if’s and buts. Because if they don’t hire you, you’re left with nothing except with more gray hair.
Omg that’s awful. I would find time to do one ☝🏼 and tell them you’re very busy in your actual job but still really excited about the role.

It’s called “exploitation.” So ask yourself: “Am I willing to allow myself self to be exploited?” If you can live with yourself, go for it.
