Interview question: Is sending a thank you note still a thing? I’ve gotten conflicting advice from friends.

Currently making 100 base. Was asked during an interview what it would take and I said 140. They came back with 145. I was initially excited but now I think I lowballed myself. Should I have held out and made them give me the range?

Hi Everyone! I applied for a position with Citi and had my interview on Feb 11. Unfortunately, I failed to ask the interviewer after the interview what were the next steps in the process and haven't heard from them or the recruiter in 2 weeks. I’m having a hard time landing an internship in my last semester mostly bc I have no experience (yes I know that’s not good) but I was pretty much forced to spend summers at home my first few years of school. So I’ve started the process too late and now most places do not want to hire someone without any experience. I’ve interviewed for a couple of serious roles at Leidos and APL logistics but I’m not confident they’ll offer me any thing. Where do I go from here?

Made it to the Technical Assessment portion of the interview process. Need to take brand elements and create an ad using photos, fonts, logos, etc. Seems super easy and there’s not much actual designing involved. But assuming it’s supposed to be and they just want to see I can follow the brand guidelines. They’ve seen plenty of my actual design work and we’ve discussed what I’ve done in my career. I’ve typically been asked to design something from scratch. Does that sound right?

M trying to get a job in pharma company since I got my work visa in jan , 2022 . I had my experience in India . Here m kind of fresh as no experience because of which even though I have all qualification for a job m not even landing up in an interview . Just got offered a remote job with a startup for $75k base + 2k stock options, and benefits (100% covered insurance, wellness, 401(K) (no match 🥲) and tons more, BUT I enjoy the company I’m at and the people. The company I’m at wants me to move to either NYC or SF. I would taking almost a 11% pay cut but at least I wouldn’t pay rent or get taxed NYC/CA tax since I’d be in Florida! Would you take a pay cut for a remote job with more take home money after taxes?

Everyday I can’t seem to hit the required billable hours. I’m overwhelmed by emails and people asking me where an item is. I feel like I’m not good enough. I keep making mistakes I shouldn’t make at my level. I wish I could just quit so I wouldn’t have to be miserable everyday.

I accepted a job offer outside of D and only later realized I was underpaid by about 20% relative to level. The recruiter really led me to believe it was a great offer. I know it’s on me, but what can I do? Is it worth talking to management at the new place, or should I just start immediately looking for another job?

I don’t think I could make this up. Interviewed with a recruiter, hiring manager, in house counsel, legal staff. I was told I was in final and was asked to supply half a dozen references who all submitted written recs. No decision so I was asked to interview with in house clients. Company still can’t make a decision so I am being asked to submit my final overall desired comp package. Mind you - this is not an AGC, DGC, or GC role, and not even F500 company. Thoughts? Is this normal now?

I’m working with a recruiter trying to lateral to a smaller Midwest market and not really happy with them. They are just sending me general firms that they’ll send my resume to, not actual listings. One of those firms requires my law school transcript but I haven’t sent it yet. Today I just saw a posting on the bar website for a job with that same firm — do I have to go through the recruiter or can I apply myself?
