Hi fishes, Need one advice. My brother is Economics graduate. During lockdown due to covid, since both of us were at home, I taught him Salesforce, just for fun. Now he has grown to have an interest in the technology and wants to pursue a career on Salesforce. But all job posting I see, always ask for BTech, MTech and such degrees to apply for openings. Any company out there willing to take a Economics graduate based on knowledge only? Any other courses in INDIA, that may facilitate this?
Got laid off from my first job after graduating college & living home right now with family. Not sure what direction to go. Was doing a structured finance role and not sure if this is something I still want to do. Any suggestions on other positions in Finance/ looking for areas with growth and potential.

Do you believe in the idea that you should always be looking/applying for roles, even if you’re content where you’re at? If so, what’s the motivator behind it?
Just got confirmation on a different Fish Bowl thread that R/GA NY recruiters only take interviews as a formality to check diversity boxes. That they already have their picks ready to go.
I'm looking to get into an ER mid leadership role with an international company (I want to investigate, travel and I speak Portuguese fluently), but I'm having a hard time breaking in. I'm overqualified. I'm an attorney who practiced employment law before my now 7 years of inhouse HR. My skills are a great asset for an ER role, but I'd be reporting to someone with less education, which I don't mind. But recruiters think they do. Any advice from my senior HR pros?
Hello Bainees 🐠 I was invited to attend a Bain London “Curious about Consulting” event 2 weeks ago, after a CV submission, and given particular timeline to apply and interview dates. And I have strong reason to apply to London (used to work and live in London, currently based in Paris) On the other hand, a good friend who is a Manager at Bain’s Helsinki office is willing to refer me to Bain’s Stockholm office. But I have a relative weaker reason there. What do you suggest? Bain & Company
Got offer from a top 10 PE firm, but it’s a senior position in Corp accounting. Base comp increased by 13%. Currently M1, not sure if should I take the job for money or should pass because it’s a step down on title. Hours are about 40-50/wk
Hello all, I am at the panel interview for the salesforce PA interview. I would really appreciate the help from the SF folks if they could provide some insights regarding the preparation and what topics/points I should consider for the presentation ?
6th year L&E associate here and thinking about transitioning to a position with better WLB. How do you go about getting a government job and are they flexible about WFH, at least a couple of days a week? Recruiters reach out all the time, but always about other firm positions. Tips/ advice much appreciated!
My fabulous legal assistant is leaving at the end of the year to focus on her mayoral campaign. I live in a very rural area & there are no legal assistants around. Everyone applying have just worked at hospital as assistants. I don’t have time to hold their hand. I need someone running from the start. My friend moved back to the area and she is interested in becoming a paralegal. Any tips/suggestions on what sites, online education, etc to refer her to. I’m at the point of hiring a virtual asst.
Hi everyone. I interviewed for a sales role at Amazon. I was told the role was an L6 and I can stay based in Chicago. Well, the recruiter emailed me today saying the hiring team felt I was better suited for an L5 role (estimated total comp is $140K-$150K) and I would have to move to Seattle. They'll send me an offer if that works. Any advice or opinions on how to negotiate? For context, I gave a desired salary range of $280K-$310K since this was an L6 role, and my current TC at P&G is $200K.
How do I know when I'm ready for SQL interviews? I feel pretty comfortable with different joins, window functions, and subqueries, and I feel like that's been enough to do everything on Leetcode and StrataScratch. Anything other topics people would recommend reviewing?
How does disclosing our disability status in job apps impact our chances of getting interviewed?
PHR or SHRM? I am looking to get more certifications related to HR vs recruiting, but I am unsure on which one is "better" or will help me grow into more of a strategic HR role. Help!!!
Planning on interviewing with other Big4s soon. I’m a M2 in core tax compliance, NYC, making $138k currently. Making the move mainly for the salary raise. What would be the reasonable/satisfying salary I should be expecting to accept the offer? Thanks!

I’m looking at a few positions at Square. How are the benefits there. I’m the sole breadwinner in a family of 6 so healthcare is important. Do they cover any percentage for the employee or dependents? Do they offer phone allowance? Any other cool benefits?
My ~60 person group at my firm has only 5 women in it. Is there any excuse at all for this? Every project I’m on feels like the old boys club
How are y’all planning upcoming travel? For example, booking non refundable hotels only to see some governments banning travel? Any tricks to not lose the $$ ?
Does anyone have any advice on how to figure out what the average multiplier for billable hours is in a certain city? If this isn’t clear, I’ll receive x ($) times (the difference between my max billable hours and my min) as my yearly bonus. I know what number my firm uses but was told it’s been the same for years. I’d love to advocate for a raise with numbers reflecting averages in our city but have no idea how to find this information. Thanks!
When NY was the epicenter for COVID-19 the rest of America shunned us and gave drivers a hard time in other states if our license plate was from NY. Now that NY actually flattened/reduced the curve, while the other states are a bumbling mess, can our governor Cuomo set a ban on all travelers coming in from other states? I would suggest a 14 day quarantine on all folks from outer states and a 30 day one for those from hot spot disaster states.
Partner's text to team on Xmas Eve: "Hope you guys have a great week off. My xmas present for a kickass 9 wks - we're not reopening the team until 01/09. I expect travel stories and pics - stay safe."
Hey everyone! Second year Deloitte analyst and I’ve been interviewing elsewhere, like many others. Just got told from the recruiter that I will be getting an offer from Apple as a Program Manager in San Jose (big jump lol). Right now I’m living in a MCOL city working remote, but I would need to move for this role (eventually lol). Any ideas on comp, living costs, etc. would be greatly appreciated. I’ve never been out to San Jose or San Francisco, so I’d appreciate any advice or DMs of any sort! Deloitte
Is anyone else in franchise sales? I’m new sales (4 months in) and struggling to connect with prospects and fill my pipeline. Any advice would be helpful.
Took my last CPA exam this morning and hopefully I can just be done. Dont think I did as well as I could have and really just want this process to be over.
CSR now gives 10x for booking through the portal for hotels, but I’ve heard we won’t get Bonvoy points if we book through portal because it’s booked through 3rd party? Is that true? What about nights towards status?
Colleagues, looking to connect w/ female Partners/MDs who work in the advisory practice of a Big 4 acct. firm (Deloitte/EY/KPMG/PwC). I'm pursuing a doctoral degree and interested in learning about women's career paths toward partnership. If you, or someone you know, is passionate about women's advancement in the Big 4 and are open to sharing personal reflections on career trajectory, I'd be grateful to have your input shape the study. Entails a 1 hr zoom interview; all info will be anonymized.
hi everyone! I just received an offer to join Deloitte Digital‘s client strategy consulting group at the SC-level for 140k with a 10K signing bonus. Is this on par with the rest of the firm or should I counter with a higher number? 3 Years of relevant experience. Thank you!

Ok be honest, candidates. I really love this set of questions, I’ve been considering shifting my current interview style to these questions - I think they really give you an idea of who this person would be within the work setting. But the questions almost feel too deep for a recruiter to ask. What would you think if a recruiter took a different path and asked these questions instead of the usual ones? https://blog.shrm.org/blog/9-interesting-interview-questions-that-actually-reveal-a-lot-about-candidat
I don’t see many transitions at the analyst/associate level from one consulting firm to another unless it’s to or from Big 4. Does anybody know why that is? Is it frowned upon to do this at such an early level?
I accepted an offer with @EY and I just got a better offer from Industry. Can I renegotiate the EY offer to match industry? Or will they get mad and rescind the offer? I prefer EY because of the type of work and other health insurance benefits.
