Interview with a startup tomorrow - thoughts on attire? They dress the range of business casual to tshirts.

I’ve always read and personally dressed a level above what the “typical” attire for the company would be. If they go business casual at all, I’d put on a tie and jacket.

Unless the company culture is strongly against dressing nicely (which it sounds like it isn’t, since some wear business casual), there is no harm in putting on a full suit

You've come this far. I'm sure you don't need fashion counsel from fb. You can do it! Figure this one out! Share what you pick.

What kind of start up and what’s the role

like

Jeans and a casual blazer, respectful yet shows you understand what you wear isn't going to matter when it comes to keeping the lights on, also the neck beards in the back room will not make fun of you for the full suit(more important than I think most assume).

like

Company in the on-demand space. Role dabbles in operations and data.

If they’re used to seeing business casual, then go suit and tie. Yo can mix it up with a patterned shirt rather than your standard blue or white

Lol, I love fashion so something like a classic business prof suit and tie seems boring. But obvi don’t want to get dinged for expressing my personality. Third round by the way, so things seem to be going well.

You can never go wrong with a suit.

I dunno about a tie. If no one there has a tie on, you look like a farmboy fish out of water. Trying to hard.

No one likes the T-pet.

So, I'm happy at my current job and have been there about 18 months. Our pay is probably 15% below market (AmLaw 100) but so are our billable requirements. An interview for another firm kind of fell into my lap, and I'm debating whether to take it just for the sake of seeing what market really is. Is there something shady about interviewing somewhere you're not totally committed to accepting an offer from?

Very early in my pregnancy and I know my job is a dead end.

Any idea what the average tenure requirement for mat leave is at agencies? My current agency is 6 months. Is that standard?

I’m currently interviewing but wondering if it’s going to reflect poorly on me at a new job if they realize i was already pregnant when I accepted the job.

Anyone that’s ever done this, can you let me know what to expect? The types of questions to ask the doctors. How I should be interacting with the staff as their prospective manager?
