Any Canadian 🐠 have tips for applying to jobs in the USA? I assume that visa eligibility is the biggest question you have to pre-answer but would love more insight. I probably need to hold off on applications until the president is confirmed either way 😅
11 applications —> 7 moved to interviews —> 4 went to final rounds —> 3 offers. 6-8 weeks from start to finish. Peace out, Strategy Consulting - it’s been real. Consider a career coach if you’re serious about moving on - drastically improved my conversion rate.
Deloitte Human Capital Sr Consultant Interview day coming up in a few weeks, what to expect/ what are the cases typically like?
Started a new job very recently. Like under a month. Interviewing (because i never turn down a convo) at another place that I’m fairly sure will offer me a job. Both these opportunities are good. The first offers a good brand building opp. The second offers a great new media opp. If these events coincided I would take the second. A bit torn on how to handle
EY 🐠: Base comp range for M2 or M3 in EY SAP practice (Houston office). Have an interview coming up next week and rather not waste anyone’s time if EY base comp is lower than Accenture.
Experienced hire interviewing for big four - Is interviewing with a couple partners in the group an almost certain signal that you will get the offer or not close enough, assuming you don't mess up the interview? I have interviewed with 4 partners already and still heard nothing for one week from HR. Just being concerned....
Currently in a rotational program at EY (first year out of undergrad). Got placed on a long term risk project and wondering if it’s worth it staying long term. Currently interviewing for the strategy team at a legacy payments company (think visa or Mastercard) and wondering if it’ll stifle growth doing internal consulting. Would definitely appreciate any insights on this as I’m not too sure who who talk to and ask. Thanks!
Fishes, Facebook reached out for a interview. I am on h1-b and wanted to understand if they are sponsoring GC amidst everything that is going on with the company? Thinking if I should even try.
How long does it take for a recruiter to let you if you have a second interview interview or not at EY
Any advice on Google interviewing, success transition from non-tech world? I applied for a Risk Lead role and am coming from a banking background.
Currently in the lateral interview process and have had a few interviews a week. Does anyone else feel drained by this process? The time spent preparing for and attending interviews feels like a second job.
Say that you live in country A. You apply to a job in company X in country B (connecting with a director through LinkedIn). 4/5 days after a recruiter talks to you for a position in company X but in country A. You strongly prefer country B over A, so you state clearly to HR that you're willing to be part of the process only if you can also interview in B. You do not bring this up again and are in last round for X in country A. You have not heard back yet from B but prefer it. WWYD?
What are some atypical interview questions you’ve asked or been asked? The one that caught me most off guard, though an easy answer was, “What would you do if you weren’t doing advertising?”
I’m a upcoming graduate student studying Accounting, and I also have some sort of data analytics and programming background. Recently, I am exposed to the accounting advisory services which makes me feel that this is what I want. Can anyone gives some advices on both the interviews and what the career path looks like? Any thoughts or comments are appreciated!
I am in a situation where my group is about to be laid off. I have not interviewed for 8 years and never in the US. I consider myself extremely talented in the tech field and have contributed to many well used libraries and frameworks but I can’t even get an interview anywhere I apply. Are there any resources to get feedback on what I’m doing wrong?
How to tell the recruiter mid interview process that your location preference has changed? Is this something that is looked negatively upon?
Does anyone know of any entry level account positions open in Chicago? I’m also looking to take informational interviews! I may have graduated but continuously ready to learn
Why does everyone put Tech / FAANG on such a pedestal, claiming it’s better than MBB. Sure, the comp and WLB may be better, but you won’t be doing as meaningful and impactful work e.g. Govt Covid response, Gates foundation projects, industry defining projects in the space of a few months etc
Tips on practicing for a case on your own? My first one and I’m nervous - especially the numbers part. Do I have to memorize a bunch or random stats? Have a 45 min interview with a small firm.
Have any of you quit to take a break - 3 month or a 6 month sabbatical to pursue other interests or just to clear your head and figure out what’s next. How easy was it to find a job after the break and how did you manage your health insurance? Any other things to keep in mind when considering a sabbatical beyond money?
Anyone make a move while in business school? Did it hurt your hiring prospects/prevent you from getting an offer? I’m trying to move to an MBB while in my executive program and trying to figure out how flexible they are/if I should wait to finish the MBA first.
Can you still negotiate up your salary after you're notified of promotion and new compensation package?
Anyone here knows the salary level for Walmart x6 level? Was reached out by two recruiters for two different roles, both x6, but drastically different equity component ….. will appreciate insights from fish fam here
At what age / salary were you able to max out 401k? Recognize there’s no “right” answer but trying to gauge. I am 23 making 88k and just moved out, I maxed it while I lived at home but probably going to have to budge and contribute a little less soon due to living expenses
Need counsel: Left advertising to go client side last year. Working at a huge company isn’t for me long-term but the money is great, I have more balance and actually raised my kids this year. I have the opportunity to be a c-suite leader at a very small agency on the rise. Super confused. Money will be less, long-term opportunity will be more. Also thinking about having another kid soonish.
My company gives me a card for all travel related expenses. Does this mean I can’t claim the points?
Any thoughts on Accenture's Skills Interview?
I feel like I’m in the twilight zone seeing all this turnover/layoffs and practitioners firm jumping
Which of these two can get a job quicker? A. The one who resigned and currently unemployed B. The one who got fired
How bad does it look to prospective employers to change jobs every 3 years? I've done this since college (12 years ago) and have tripled my salary as a result. Granted, I've switched between the same two companies each time, getting a big pay bump in the process. Now, the other company is looking at bringing me back again (3rd time). The pay bump won't be as big, but much better WLB, less travel, and I'll be able to do what I love. Opinions on this?
I know interview test helps the hiring manger get an idea of how and where candidates would fit in. But this agency I applied, asked for 3 typography layout (business card), 3 KVs. Isn't it too much?
Hi Fishes, My wife is looking for an opportunity in Pune location as a mechanical engineer from past 6 months. She has total of 4 years of experience into production and manufacturing industries. Voucher codes for United Center?
First year partner who has always been pretty straightforward with us says, based on what he’s seen, comp and bonuses will be, as good as, or better than ever during his tenure at the firm.
Saturday marked 14 years since I was fired and started my own agency. Getting fired did not break me then and this pandemic is not going to break me now. Stick with it, everyone.
