I’ve been with my current company for 3 years. In this time I have only received one raise and triple the responsibilities. I am currently the fleet/safety manager for a fleet of 8 trucks. Also, I am required to do all secretary work, manage the office, dispatch, keep the books, and manage payroll for 12 employees for 34,000 annually. With the workload I currently have I’m not sure what to approach my boss with as a fair salary for the task i complete daily.
No, you negotiate before offer letter.
I mean I don’t know why the recruiter/HR person didn’t say they’d take it back to the decision makers, but I’d assume that’s what they are doing. It can take over a week to narrow down a final offer. If it’s been 7 days, just reach out to follow up. Hiring managers always assume that new hires will negotiate. And it’s not likely an offer would be pulled because you asked for more money.

You did good. A verbal commitment is required before an official letter is sent.
