Had an interview with a TINY firm. Pretty much one partner and one associate(that i would replace as they are moving). Partner said PY they made 900k. He then says if you do 20% of the clients for 180k you tell me how much you want of that 180k. Okay so how do i say i want at least half of that when i have 1.5 years experience.... current associate said he made 40k year one and 50k year two...soemthing doesn’t add up???
Media 🐟: when you're asked by a recruiter/HR if you're also interviewing at other agencies, do you say yes or no? Does it hurt or help your chances at getting an offer?
Does receiving an interview at most schools imply that the adcom thinks your stats check the box and as long as you ace the interview you're getting in?
Hi fam!! Schedule an interview if you're interested (; I'm the lead writer for a series focused on People of Color who work in a creative industry. Recruiter doesn't respond back for feedback on why I didn't make it after final round interview when his email mentioned that they are happy to provide feedback. After following up twice, any idea on how I could have the feedback?
Have you ever applied for a position that you had no experience in and got an offer? How did you sell yourself to the interviewers?
Ok be honest, candidates. I really love this set of questions, I’ve been considering shifting my current interview style to these questions - I think they really give you an idea of who this person would be within the work setting. But the questions almost feel too deep for a recruiter to ask. What would you think if a recruiter took a different path and asked these questions instead of the usual ones? https://blog.shrm.org/blog/9-interesting-interview-questions-that-actually-reveal-a-lot-about-candidat
My current role is a Business Analyst. I am very comfortable interacting with people and also Ambiguity. Recently, I developed quite a lot of interest in Product management and I want to make a transition into this stream. I am completely aware that Business Analysis is different from Product Management. I started taking courses on Udemy to understand more about Product Management and also started reading books. I would love to get handson with the concepts that I am learning, but not sure (TBC)
I was recently let go. When I interview, should I be upfront about this, or should I keep it vague — “looking for new opportunities”? It seems like it will come up when people ask why I’m leaving.
Unexpectedly got an interview for product management at a large tech company (potential dream role). This is a big deal for me and the direction I want to go. Trying to schedule the 1st round a week out so I can prepare, but can't help feeling like I'm not smart enough. Feeling really anxious about totally embarrassing myself, especially because I know how much others prepare. Any tips/advice on preparation or dealing with this level of anxiety for an interview?
ACN 🐠, are you currently having your yearly performance review, and does that impact hiring? I am in the interview process with ACN, had two interviews, both went well based on the feedback I received, was expecting a third meeting, that was more than a week ago, still have not heard back. Was wondering if hiring was put on hold
Anyone has interviewed for BCG Gamma data scientist roles? How does it compare to the regular consulting path in terms of salary, hours, etc?
Senior Associate finishing my Masters, just applied to Business Analyst (class of 2022) position at McKinsey. Anyone willing to provide referral? McKinsey & Company
Hello accounting friends. I have an upcoming interview at a hedge fund as a fund accounting role. I currently work at a big four (1year). Does anyone know questions that will ask ? Any advice will be appreciated as there aren’t that much information about this hedge fund online
About to interview for Deloitte and have not been vaccinated due to religious beliefs. Will this affect me as a candidate? Will I be asked about my status? How should I go about answering this.
UrbanPiper, a Bangalore based SAAS company in food tech is hiring for the following roles. Anyone looking for an opportunity can reach out to me.
I like strategizing approaches. Figuring out how to make life easier for other consultants. Identify gaps and solution ways to improve design and implementation. I feel like I’m putting out fires but I want to help prevent them in the first place. What role would that be?
I think (fingers crossed) that I am about to get a job offer for a management role. It would be a 45 percent pay increase and I honestly might be able to negotiate it to up to 55, but I just don’t feel excited about it. It’s a smaller company then where I am now, but still a decent size and great reputation, but the team is much smaller. I really want to be more excited because I know it’s a good opportunity. Any advice?
Dm me for referral at PwC. Thanks!
Hi I’m interviewing with Deloitte for a tech strategy manager position. What would the base and bonus potentially look like? I have 8 years of experience in tech consulting with Accenture. Greatly appreciate any feedback
Do you guys know when will your firm start hiring again? Will get out this year and may have 6 mons training to be reserved and desperately looking for Audit/Advisory job but I guess I just not getting out at the right time.
My roommate is currently having a very loud conference call with 60+ very very giggly people. This wfh is going to be fun... she can sit in her room and close her door but nope. Thanks for listening 🤦♀️
I'm looking to purchase American Airlines miles. Any suggestions on how to purchase miles other than from AA?
Have you been seeing any creativity lately around gender inequity, child abuse, LGBTQ, PETA, guns rights, or other cause related marketing? Why not? Because none of them are trending at the moment?
Do you use [sic] when quoting a pleading and the allegation has typos in it? Don’t want to come off as petty but also don’t want to be blamed for the typo.
I have a potential client based in EU. What's the best way to go about billing an under $50k project? (Google says PayPal but sounds a little weird to me).
I think I'm at age where I'm tired of flings. Need to settle down. But it's hard to find a main when you travel so much and have sides in different cities. Consulting is a crazy lifestyle. Anyone else feel the same way?
Just finished a case presentation with 7 interviewers. Should I send a thank you email to all (I’ve already sent thank you emails to two of them from interviews earlier in the process)? They were all extremely nice so I just want to make sure I do the right thing.
Looking for moderately priced hotels in Paris - trying to chose between Moxy Bastille and Courtyard Gare De Lyon. Any thoughts on which is better? Want to do touristy things.
I’m currently working as a design consultant at a big 4 & it’s my first job as a designer. I’m doing a lot of strategy work and haven’t done any design work at all. Although I want to find a new job, I don’t have any design experience to add to my portfolio to be competitive in recruitment. I’d love to get some advice from people who hired consultants or were once consultants but now working at agency or in-house on how to market yourself during recruitment.
I’m an immigrant with H1B. Been wanting to get out of my firm so badly but every time I apply outside, I start getting dragged into work at my current firm.I was going through some pretty rigorous interviews (I failed them) and have been in a slump since. Meanwhile my current firm keeps dumping work on me and I can’t find the time to apply outside. Anyone been through something similar? I’m losing hope. The politics is also so toxic, they started screwing me over since my last performance review.
Hi everyone, I’m interviewing at Accenture for a UX Design role in the UK, and would love to ask about the process and best practices for it. Many thanks in advance!
Anyone ever been on a project so dysfunctional + toxic that they've requested to roll off? How did that go? Asking for a friend lol.
Open forum to share today’s successes, failures, chaos & support. See below: I’ll say it. I am sick of ppl ruining my day. i wish everyone was a bit more understanding when it comes to unforeseen problems & road blocks. ESPECIALLY when it comes delivery. I know we are all on edge rn- how could we not be? but I’ve had it with how rude and inhumane people are being to each other right now. I’m just trying to help. Why can’t we all be more flexible? (like their expected delivery date lmao)
Hoping to relocate from the Midwest to Oregon. Family lives in Bend but we'd like to stay within 30-45 min of PDX. Recommendations for family friendly cities/neighborhoods that won't break the bank? Expensive taste with a middle class budget😆 Great public schools are a must.
I recently lost a parent. It seems so unfair that if this happened during the summer I would only have to pretend to be ok for 40 hours a week, as opposed to now where 60 hours is the expectation.
Holding all else constant, do you prefer two continuous weeks of bench time or 10 hours less work per week for 8 weeks
