Interviewing for a security assurance analyst position with Twilio and some of the stuff I’ve been reading makes me nervous. Any Twilio people here that can speak to overall company culture and work/life balance?

Been at twilio for less than a year but it's the best place I've ever worked. Culture is great though there are issues due to massive employee growth over the last few years but overall it's great. Security is of utmost importance in this space so I'd imagine there may be some pressure but I'd imagine less than at a smaller company. Everyone I've met here has been super helpful all while being remote.

The pace is fast and the bar is high. That said, there is a big emphasis on balance. Everyone respects your life outside of work and we have small things like no-meeting Fridays.

If you’re having trouble or second thoughts - reach out to the recruiter you’re working with when I went through the process they helped me out and set me up with other people (outside of the process) to talk to.

Just an example: I left mid day during a huge project to go to my kid’s parent teacher conference. No questions asked and was told to have a good weekend.

You will be busy, but when you need focus time or time away to take care of life - you’ll have the support.

At the end of the day I think you should trust the feeling you’re getting from the interview process. I’m connected with a few people on LinkedIn who work there and seem to really enjoy it. I’m sure experience varies from person to person but it’s definitely possible to have a positive experience.

I think that’s a good perspective. I’m just going to do my best to be thoughtful with my questions and get the answers I need to make a good decision.

Haven't heard anything too terrible. Just that it can be a bit fast paced over there thats all.

I have a connection that only worked there for 9 months (quit two weeks ago) - just said the company culture wasn’t a good fit (I know that’s vague)

I think Twilio is one of those company cultures in which a person is either going to thrive or be miserable. I would ask questions and try to get a sense of it during the interviews.

It's a growing company so there will be pressure. But I am sure there will be support when needed. Did you end up taking the offer?

2 YOE and about to do my first interview with a competitor. I haven’t told my firm that I’m interviewing. Should I expect the interviewing firm to ask for a referral? I am worried that it would be awkward to ask a current manager to be a referral in this situation. Am I approaching this right?

Who in this bowl has exited consulting into a Director versus stayed? Why or why not?

I'll go first... Left for a salary bump and ability to run a division under an aggressive ceo who I felt I could learn from. Have since realized that lifestlye is more important than advancement, and moved to a hardware company. Still in a director position, making more than I did before though with my nights and weekends mostly dedicated to family.

Hello everyone.
Hope you're all doing good.
I appeared for the interview for KPMG GS for the role of Associate Consultant.
So far there has been an online assessment, round 1of interview with assistant manager, round 2 of interview with the Manager.

Are there gonna be more rounds of interview..? If not, what is expected timeline they take to make the final decision..?

Thanks in advance.

I’m 9 months into sobriety and it’s been a great transformation. However , the last few months a feeling of loneliness and disconnect has set in with me with my significant other. I couldn’t have hoped to have someone as supportive as she is/ was and through all my bs through my addiction so I’m incredibly grateful. I'm pretty isolated from other people so it’s not like there’s anyone else - but this feeling of isolation is new. I feel stuck, am i crazy or ungrateful or ???
