Interviewing for Deloitte GPS. Was at another firm (commercial) then in banking. They’re talking Spec Master. I like the specialist track. Is $135k too much to ask? Would be lateral but that’s okay.

Why Deloitte? Acn is better 😌

Ask 145. take 135 or better Make one counter offer if they offer below 135 Then do some soul searching... And make them wait while you look for other opportunities.

What group ?

Does anyone else feel like they get a runaround response when receiving a rejection notification? Had an interview at a firm where they have an unlimited vacation policy that’s just “speak with your deal teams in advance to get time off”. Anyone actually know in practice how many days is a normal amount to request in a @year? My current firm gives you 20 days and very much pushes you to take those days, so just wondering if anyone at a firm with a similar policy takes around 20 without issue.

However in the mean time I want to explore and see what other opportunities there are. Any advice on when and where to apply for full-time?

Have anyone done contracting negotiations before? I've interviewed for co A & B and co A extended an offer today. The offer does not meet my current salary. Co B's interview structure is 3 rounds and I've finished my 2nd round today. I have 2 yrs of contracting HR exp from fortunate 500 co’s & OMW to get my SHRM-CP. Appreciate your advice in advance.

If you’ve interviewed via Zoom/WebEx/Teams etc. recently, did you use your personal computer or work computer? My personal laptop is old and the camera is nowhere near the quality of my work laptop. Is it crazy to use my work laptop? Side note - the interview is via Microsoft Teams, which we use in my office for internal communications. I’m comfortable with the using the platform, but have no idea how meeting info is stored.

I’m very excited about this opportunity and want to make a good first impression. Meeting is via zoom so I’m treating it like an actual interview. What are some good questions to ask? Appreciate the help :)

I feel terrible. My mum and my husband both told me I am fat and need to lose weight ASAP. They were not trying to insult me, they both really think they have my best in interest. I am a mother of 11 months old twins, am still breastfeeding and currently have 11kg more than before pregnancy. I was always skinny and before pregnancy wore size 8. I feel so bad for hearing that, and feel like a failure on all levels.

Decision - I was out the door of my nationwide ins dfense firm. Was going to top local firm with a lot more clout where everything would be private pay and I’d be more on bigger exposure cases. However, my firm outmatched the new firm, made a much better bonus structure, and said I could do more work with their complex bus lit group. I’d still likely do about 50 percent ins defense but I really like the partners I work for, and I handle own cases/take depos, and get autonomy. Am I right to stay?
