Interviewing for in house position to do employment counseling. What are good reasons for wanting to go in house that I could tell an interviewer?

You want to have a personal investment in your client. Working for lots of different clients is great but the idea of actually being a part of the company’s success and not just an outside advisor is attractive to you. You will have the ability to fully integrate yourself into the company’s culture and get to know employees and the company’s issues on a much deeper level. You want to be in the same boat with great people, not rowing along shouting directions at people from a different boat every couple of weeks.....or something like that

like

^exactly this. Have an example of how you worked closely with a client, learned their business, and how it was rewarding and you were able to better serve them. Play up how you want to know a company’s business, goals, and mission so you can provide better advice and partner with them in their success. Also, being in-house you have the opportunity to work with business partners to be proactive when you see issues instead of being reactive.

like

Doing in-house employment, you get to prevent problems before they start with good advice. Instead of dealing with the mess on a discrimination lawsuit on the back end, you get to advise your client on how to navigate dealing with a difficult employee in a way that will prevent the lawsuit.

like

S1, of course not everyone listens, but at least you can prepare yourself for the incoming lawsuit.

You’d be working for one client, and the same client all the time. I supposed that could be attractive for some.

I’ve been in-house most of my career and always have multiple clients - you work for a company but there are multiple internal and external clients when you are in that role. Focus more on the position itself and what appeals to you in that role.

In addition to the points being made above, alignment of interests changes a lot of things. I haven't filled out billable time sheets in years. And that means a lot more than just not doing paperwork. I've seen outside counsel try and run up and stall negotiations and contracts and what not simply to run up billables. Lots of firms pressure their attorneys to do that. In-house, that doesn't exist. It's a lot less wasted time on nonsense that doesn't actually deliver value.

Hi fishes,

Currently working in ZS Associates as DAA and got job offer from 159 solutions (acquired firm by IQVIA) for higher position of Consultant (equivalent pos as AC in ZS)
At ZS, CCTC: 10Fixed + 3
At IQVIA, CTC: 14.5fixed + 4 bonuses + 1 reallocation

Is it a good offer to take or should I keep my job hunt on?

Moreover, I got hired by 159 solutions, but since this firm is acquired by IQVIA itself. Should I say I'm going to IQVIA (big firm) or 159 (small firm)?

I recently (1+ yr ago) transitioned from consulting to industry. The hours are much better. Total comp is less than what I was making on the consulting side (-15% less). My schedule is much better, and I have a good routine outside of work. However, I don't feel accomplished at my current role and feel like I am not learning as much. I was hoping that I would make up for that comp difference in a year or two but upward mobility seems limited. Is it too soon to look for another job?

This job market is insane right now.

Now, with all of these layoffs... employers have the upper hand, and it's super competitive to land the job.

I have a boss from hell. She’s the GM of my hotel and she is a mean girl that never grew out of highschool. She loves gossip. She will trash talk her employees with other employees and once her toxic garbage starts to leak amongst us peons she will send a group text telling us all to stop spreading rumors and to stop being bullies like she isn’t the mean kid with a magnifying glass torturing ants for no reason. I want to stand up but I’ve seen her retaliate on people who have tried to. Help.
