How many people are trying to change jobs (search for a new job) during the pandemic? considering we have a lot of time to search and interview... without our bosses knowing
Currently in tech consulting. Currently having a good offer to exit to a Program Manager role at a tech company. Should I do it? Will it harm my chance of getting back to consulting, especially strategy consulting later? Should I still accept the Program Manager offer if I plan to go to B-school in 2 years to pivot to strategy consulting?
Do any other firms have an early career investment bonus? I.e., allow you to elect a bonus amount and corresponding payout date 18+ months in the future when you're a staff?
Is the interview process to get into IBD harder or easier than top consulting firms like BCG/McKinsey/Bain? Where do the truly smart people work nowadays?
Glad to see that California has forbid employers to ask about salary history. It's time to start shrinking all those wage gapes.
Anyone who has made the switch from FDD to FP&A: Is FP&A easier to learn at the financial analyst level? I’m a 2nd year associate in FDD and struggling to pick things up quickly to the point where its a 50/50 whether I get promoted to Sr I’ve been told. As a result, I’m looking at FP&A as a possible exit.
Interview with D S&O was the opposite of what I expected. Don't think I'll get the offer. 😓 Maybe next time...
If I get a CFA but have zero experts in investing or portfolio management, will the Charter, alone, get me a job? If so, what would my expected salary be? I’m 40 yrs old with 14 yrs of public sector Defense Budget experience making $102K now for a Big 4.
Who has gone for a work green card interview? How long did it take to get called for your interview ?
I am curious to hear how much (as % of base salary) people get from bonuses per year - mostly looking at MBB and Big 4
Question: why do you think the “side hustle” become such a key thing for recruiters/CDs when interviewing creatives?
I got laid off in January and have been trying to find a new job since. I keep making it to the phone interview and sometimes a second interview, but always get ghosted. It’s so disheartening. I have too much experience for an internship, and I have too little to be the top choice for copywriter roles. I know I’m a good writer, I know what I’m capable of, but it’s so exhausting trying to convince people. They always like my book but it’s never enough to get the gig. What can I do?
Anyone can speak to the culture of Amazon’s accounting? They’ve been hiring like crazy and I started to wonder if this is a good exit option. I know it’s a big team, but any insights are highly appreciated!
Interviewing for an IB analyst job and have a case study coming up. They said it’d be a hypothetical deal and they’d ask me to assess whether it is a good investment opportunity. Any input on how to prepare? Resources? Tips/tricks? Thank you!
Booz fish, what does leadership look for in a candidate and what should one stress during an interview? Asking for a friend.
Can anyone explain why I get 'Thank you for applying, we received your application' emails 3 months later?
Can anyone comment on how the COVID-19 and economic uncertainty has affected the protocols or processes for life sciences firms? Any comment about Clearview HCP?
Have a lead for a creative strategy role for telecoms, finance, etc! Leave your email or name if interested
Is anyone a tax technician at KPMG? I'm curious to know if the position is worth it to you and if you receive the same benefits/PTO as any other associate.
When you’re applying to jobs or sending your portfolio to folks, is there a good way to ask for more specific, actionable feedback? I’ve had a few people say they really liked my spec work, but without specifics I don’t know which areas to improve or which elements to double down on. Is there a way to loop back and ask for someone to elaborate on their feedback or do you just move on and hope the next person goes more in-depth?
MBB🐠: You get $200M/90 in a case, acceptable to round to $180M/90? Friend said +/- 10% rounding is acceptable, but that seems pretty bold?
I am a single woman who is a Workday Tech lead. I recently started with my consulting firm but I have been considering getting a dog for years. I found a retired small dog (from a breeder) who is 4 years old. Is it dumb to adopt the dog knowing that post covid there will likely be travel? I’m on a fully remote project until April 1st.
Have a full time offer for MBB summer 2021. Just received summer analyst offer at BlackRock corporate strategy. Worth pushing back MBB start date to fall 2021? Want to eventually exit into AM.
Has anyone interviewed F2F recently (not over Zoom, but in person)? If so, did you and your interviewers wear a mask? Was there anything else different about "interviewing while COVID"?
Seriously, WTF do I put in a cover letter?! I know you’re supposed to say something specific to the agency, but I feel like everything I write always sounds so cheesy and forced.
Relocated to a new agency 6 months ago. Currently feel like it’s not the right fit. Should I stick it out for the full year? If I leave, I owe them my relocation bonus. Thoughts?
I've been using https://www.contactsplus.com/ to maintain my customer co tact entries. Give it a look if yall have had customers shifting jobs and companies.
Dumb question, I want to send money to my brother and am thinking Zelle to his cell # is the best option as it seems to be free and easy for him to access (vs a visa gift card). Any potential hangups? I'd rather not tip him off ahead of time if possible as he'd probably be embarrassed to accept it but also don't want it to get lost or for him to not be able to access it for any reason. Paypal might be another option but I don't know for certain I have the correct email for his PayPal.
