I haven’t been in that position so no advice but good luck!! I’m sure it’s hard and stressful but at least you have time to do this without sneaking around your current employer (or not sneaking around as much).

I had recently accepted an offer from PwC India.
Now one of my friend has referred me for a related position at PwC AC.
I am required to apply on the Workday portal for that. But when I login , I see "Offer Accepted" in my profile.

Though I am able to fill for the PwC AC job...
My question is if I apply for it, will they get to know about my PwC india offer and they will rescind my PwC India offer as well as not proceed with the PwC AC Interview?

Pls help🙏🏾🙏🏾

A parent of one of my students told admin she thinks it's irresponsible that I won't be grading over Christmas break. I let the students know to get any work they need graded in before the break and I'll get it to it during our workdays in January. Apparently that's not fast enough for her 🙄. Is it wrong that I'm sort of pissed off by this? Should I say something?

I’ve always gotten the advice that when you want to switch jobs you should take interviews from places you’re not actually interested in, so you can understand your value in the market and have better negotiating power.

I’m doing that rn - took a couple interviews to gauge my skills, my market value, and see what I need to work on for interviews that I actually care about.

However, I feel really guilty about wasting their time and going all the way knowing I’ll just say no at the end. Wwyd?

Feeling so frustrated and scared. I am trying my hardest to be loving to my brother who is addicted to many things. My family has been encouraging him for years to get real help. I joined a new firm October 1 & billed a 200 hour month. With my current workload, I am expecting to meet or exceed my prorated hours target. When I accepted the position, future bonuses were discussed, but given ramp up, etc. I didn’t think to ask about a prorated bonus for my stump year. Has anyone dealt with this before? I hate to ask & sound greedy, but I relocated (at a pay cut) for this position & a bonus would really help going to my mortgage payments I’m still carrying for my old condo.

I’ve been described as “rising star/golden child” etc., glowing reviews. The thing is that I’ve had a tough year with absent mentors, low interaction/training (there are extenuating circumstances with my SA.) Do I mention what changes I need to see to stay here? Or just go along, accept my good reviews and bonus, and keep my head down?

Fellow millennial lawyers: tell me, in general terms, 1 or 2 clients you acquired and how you acquired them. I feel like the suggested strategies for developing business are always the same: network, build your brand (hate this phrase), market yourself on LinkedIn, etc. Does any of this work? Seems to me to that most business development comes from long-standing contacts (e.g. your childhood best friend is now CEO and needs legal services), so I’m curious how other attorneys developed business.
