McKinsey & Company what’s the appropriate level/role at McKinsey if I have 12 years of finance experience, primarily FP&A? I act as finance partner to the business today, owning P&L, establishing visibility to performance, guiding growth/strategy efforts. Been in a variety of industries (healthcare IT, mfg, fin services) and was lead on acquisition integration-building full finance framework, reorg decisions. I'm currently working in one of the big4s(I am a 2022 passout). My college's HoD forwarded a mail for on campus placement of hsbc for batch of 23, she knew that I am very interested in jobs in financial institutions(like banks etc). I spoke with her, she told me, "fill up toh karde, fir HSBC ke haath meh". So, I filled it up and applied for hsbc.

In Jersey City, how far in advance can I book an apartment?

I interviewed at company A and B. Company A sent me an offer, however I really want to work at company B, and they said they would get back to me last week and still have not even after following up. Is it pushy or frowned upon to tell company B that I got an offer from company A so can they hurry the hell up and tell me if I’m getting an offer from them. Company B also said there is still a round of reference checks left and the holidays are coming up.. help! What should I do?

What is the career progression like in PE? At McKinsey where I am now, it’s fairly standardized, about 2-3 years at each level, and up/out model. If can’t get elected partner after 2 or 3 cycles, will likely get counseled out. Partner eligible for senior partnership after 6 years. How is it in PE? Is it up/out as well or can you end up being “stuck” at associate level for 10 years? How likely is it to be promoted, how fast and what happens if you are asked to leave (where do you go next?)
