What kind of employment lawyer represents an applicant negotiating a contract for a job as a trader for a hedge fund? Are there fund-specific specialists? I think the main terms would be bonus, Earnout of existing deferred compensation from prior employer, and then standard non compete and future deferred comp.

Additional Posts in Women in STEM

I swear to god if HR was actually competent where I work none of the guys I work with would survive. Had a coworker make a seriously messed up and disgusting joke about women in front of me and others, right after he said to me "I'm glad you didn't get all dramatic about it like those Me Too girls." 😡🤮 I get we work in a rural area and some things are seen as ok still but come on dude. Yuck.

Can anyone help me?
I’m 25 and have an array of experience within environmental science. I mostly enjoy being a field employee but recognize the pay is not always great. My current position is bureaucratic and technically oriented which is great for skills but not for growth. I know I have more to offer and want to expand into different areas of STEM. Any suggestions or recommendations would help, I’m open to anything!

Help needed hahah... I am trying to complete 10 or so TO DO general items that I can put in every project/program tracker to start. For example Stakeholder kick off meeting Can you share some of the general items you see in you project/program planning trak? Back story I started new job at a pretty big corporation but when they said there's no organization they were not exaggerating. currently I need to create plans/trackers for multiple projects/programs, teach teams how to use etc...

Apologies if this topic has already been discussed, but it seems my search bar is not working.
I have 7 years of experience working with big pharma companies. I am used to communicating nicely, politely, respectfully. The same way I want to be treated. No issues. But I recently had some feedback that I might be too nice and I should be more professional with my coworkers, especially my manager. I already get anxious and overthink every email and chat. Should I work on this?

We had an important project stakeholders meeting for which I prepared a presentation, delivered the presentation and answered some difficult questions in the Q&A. I ensured a few of the stakeholders that I'd follow up with some interesting links.
I prepared an email to follow up which was a collation of links, white papers in attachment etc which took the morning to put together. My colleague, who is a male who had initially set up the meeting and chaired it was to send the minutes after. (1)

Hi everyone! I'm in need of some advice.. I have a panel interview in a few days & I'm not sure what to do at this stage of the interview process. Up until now, I've only had initial interviews with recruiters or a 2nd round 1:1 with hiring managers & now I don't know what to expect. I've been told that they use the STAR method for answers & I'm researching that now, but a) what should I expect during this time & b) what are some questions typically asked at this stage? Thanks in advance!

Looking for a remote/hybrid/onsite (Calgary,Alberta) job for my boyfriend who got almost 5 years of experience in proposal writing, RFP, RFI and bid management for a civil engineering firm. He also got an MBA, non drinker, non smoker, clean driving abstract and very polite. He gave out tons of cv in indeed job posters for the past 5 months, ends up becoming the filler candidate, took a huge toll in his mental health and we are going through some very rough patches. Can anyone please kindly help?

I'm currently looking for a new job, and it's looking like I'm going to start around beginning of December. I also get married in March, and I'm going to take my fiancé's last name. I was wondering if I should ask HR if I could start out using my married name. I'm worried that people will just start to learn who I am about 3-4 months in only for my name to change! It could potentially be confusing.

Anyone have any thoughts on this? Or am I just overthinking it?

Just read about that woman who did Wikipedia bios for a bunch of women in STEM and minorities in STEM who no one had bothered to write about yet. Such a great idea honestly especially to encourage or demonstrate to younger women that it's possible. For women in any branch of STEM, do you feel like women get the same accolades and media opportunities as men?

Is it a red flag as a candidate to ask if a company offers maternity leave? I was recently laid off, so I wasn't expecting to lose my job. We're planning on trying for a baby in the next year or so, so it's really important to me that my next job offers paid maternity leave.

The issue is that it's so rarely advertised on company web sites, but ultimately better maternity leave would sway my decision for a job. Is there a way to ask this tactfully? Or without raising red flags?

I'm the only woman on my team in the lab, and all my male colleagues told me today they just assumed I would handle getting our boss's Christmas gift and card together. They thought once I had everything they could just sign the card, and that would be it. What's the best way to explain that this isn't cool without coming off naggy? If we drew sticks or something I'd be fine, but this feels lowkey sexist. Thoughts?
