Introvert here. I’m great at 1 on 1 convos, and small group chats at after work events. But, once the number hits 4-5+ I end up silent and not participating bc I’m horrible at telling stories. Advice?

Used to be the same way and still get a bit nervous with big groups, but routinely speak to varying size groups between 20-100 people. Utilize a wholesaler and watch their technique, delivery, etc. They are usually pretty polished since they do it so often. Face the fear and before long you’ll not be as hesitant

I was shaking with fear my first 3 seminars. Now I love it and thrive off the attention. After facing the fear you really do get over it I promise

Looking around makes it better for me. If I fix my eyes on a few people in the crowd, I keep thinking about what they might be thinking and it messes up my flow. Especially if someone is squinting like they’re trying to understand. People nodding their head on the other hand is encouraging, but when you start to get less of that response, you try to win that acceptance back during your speech and it can go less than best. Just speak, look around at all while you’re doing it and address the crowd as you would one person .

I’m by nature extremely introverted. As an example, when I first got married, my wife said I had to talk to her every day for at least 15 minutes. For 8 months I’d drive home in cold sweats trying to figure out what to say to her. Now I can and have talked to crowds well into the hundreds. I found out that I can talk about me and lessons I’ve learned without any problem. If I’m nervous, I just say that out loud and most of the time it goes away.
Everyone is a little nervous at times. Acknowledging it gives you power over it. One man said in front of a crowd of 50k people, I’ve talked to this many people before but not all at once. We all laughed at that n he relaxed.
Hope this helps

Motions
I work in a midsize firm and we have the basic subscription to westlaw, which doesn’t include the ability to see filed briefs, motions, etc without incurring additional costs. I’m wondering if there is a service in the NJ/PA area that gives you access to previously filed motions and briefs? So if I’m drafting a summary judgment I could search the service and find a similar one. If this doesn’t exist.. I think I found the next million dollar idea lol
